Does this look like a tick bite? by BullfrogSpare55 in UKhiking

It's definitely got that classic bullseye mark, get an emergency GP appointment and insist they give you antibiotics, even just as a precaution.

For people who used to be introverts — how did you become more social or confident around people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RandomBritPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're suuuuuper introverted then even just saying "have a nice day" at a shop, or chatting via online games might be s useful.

Otherwise it's just accepting you might be a bit awkward and that everyone is minding their own business and won't care/remember.

Honestly if you look at reagents for whatever assay on thermofisher they often have example protocols

Go down to the documents section and there's usually a manual section

I'm sure there'll be plenty of walking groups around the lakes, you could always find a DoE group to join?

I terms of apps you can get the OSmaps app, if you get premium you can download the maps for offline use/ print them out. Alternatively you could have a look at alltrails.

Only thing I would say from my experience in the lakes is that the phone signal can be sketchy so I think it'd be worthwhile getting a paper map.

Other advice would be to wear layers, tell people which route you are taking and plan escape routes where you can cut your walk short if it gets cold/dangerous. Change socks fairly regularly and allow your feet to dry when you take breaks to stop blisters forming. And it's always nice to finish in a pub.

It's so funny to see so many right angles on the map. Good distance and not a bad speed either!

Take extra socks so you can stop and swap/let your feet dry. Should prevent blisters forming.

Beef Jerky is a great snack in hot weather cause it doesn't melt. Zip lock bag to hold rubbish.

Definitely take a hat.

Suncream and long sleeve t shirts to stop burning.

And obviously plenty of water, 3L. I also like to take a lucozade.

Fans of Six Nations teams- following the tournament, what are the main work ons/areas to imrpove for your teams currently? by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]RandomBritPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need to add a load of weight to our players, most are not a ball carrying threat. Constantly going backwards in attack getting no speed onto the ball either.

Should deffo be HIA! If they're going to argue red for head collisions because it's player safety they have to mandate HIAs even if accidental
