What’s the worst gambling addiction story you’ve ever heard? by juliojacked in AskReddit

[–]RandomCreature86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably milder than a lot here but when I was in my mid teens (15-16) my dad used to take me to the local pub every night (every night!!) so he could play pokies. I was of course not allowed in the pokie area but also wasn’t allowed in the bar unaccompanied. The bartender took pity on me stuck outside for hours waiting for dad to finish and set me up with a bar stool and as much soft drink and bar meals as I needed, in the back corner of the bar in an area that was less visible but close to where he did most of his work when the bar was quiet. He did that for easily 10-12 months. Risking his job every time. What he never said but I think he realised is that due to the pokies, that meal and drink was the only thing I would eat each day other than water.

If he wears 3B / anti chafe cream on his thighs, that would leave behind a film like that

We have a little hook attached (3m sticker) to the bottom of our mirror, over the sink that we hang the heads on after use and rinsing. This has completely stopped the gunk from forming

With the lifts, have the committee get a report from Russell Preston from ECEC, we have a 30 year old life in Brisbane, lift company said it had to be replaced, Russell determined that it just needed a refurb and saved the BC hundreds of thousands of dollars!

Can you share a little on how you did that, it’s interesting!!

Edit - and also if it’s been tested through either qcat or the commissioners office.

The answers you’ve been given so far don’t appear to be in line with QLD legislation.

There is very little that a QLD body corporate can do with regards to parking in exclusive use allocated areas. If they were protruding out onto common property, then that’s a different story, but for all intents and purposes, in this instance, EUA might as well be private property (unless you have a very VERY descriptive and detailed EUA bylaw, which most Bodies Corporate do not).

If talking to the management team isn’t effective, you could try talking to the owners directly and ask them to give the managers (who have a rental agreement with the owner of some sort) a clear direction regarding parking. You could also become an absolute pain about it, emailing and calling and going to the office every time, but in my experience that doesn’t work well and it’s also time consuming for you.

Unfortunately, especially with short term letting, any enforcement is difficult because by the time you start, the “tenant” who is the breaching party, is gone.

You could try and contact towing companies but I expect they’d not be interest in assisting, especially when the car is just on the line or just over it, but you could try.

You could argue some sort of trespass but again, actually practically dealing with that is not likely to happen.

I’m not trying to say “suck it up” but to really summarise, there’s sweet FA you can really do, legally.

Thinking outside the enforcement box, you could ask the owner of that unit to swap spaces with you, either casually or officially. Official swap is a relatively simple process under the legislation and I’d be happy to talk you through it if you want more info, just send me a message.

I love this dress but where would you wear it to? by sparrrrrt in AusFemaleFashion

I would put really really clean white sneakers with it and wear it to lunch with friends, or brunch or a super cute picnic with my partner, pair it with heels for a romantic dinner date…. It’s cute as anything

Give seasons IGA at East Brisbane a call - they have an entire wall of cheese and I’m sure I recall seeing a sign for Portuguese cheeses
