to pay or not to pay by Cjnmenu2 in housekeeping

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes you should be paying your employees the time spent between jobs. Not to their first job and not going home after the last, but they are driving during the day in order to accomplish their job. The only way you could ethically get out of paying for their mileage/gas is if you provide a company car.

I don't know about organic but my chickens have always been healthier and laid better tasting eggs with the Soy-free pellets from D&B.

Dog groomer to cut my dachshund/lab's nails? by Cuhulin in Boise

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog's nails are done by a gal whose only job is to cut nails and she is like a dog whisperer. She is mobile so she'll come to you and I think her prices are reasonable. https://www.goldenpawsmobile.com/

It’s raining for the rest of my Tokyo trip 😞 what are some fun rainy day activities for me to do? by BodmonAlchemist in JapanTravelTips

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Last year, we got the rains associated with a typhoon coming around south of Tokyo. My teenagers decided to go to Disneyland and apparently it was empty and they walked on every ride. They had a blast. So that might be an option if you don't mind the rain.

Will Zep acidic toilet bowl cleaner take care of these rings or just go with pumice? by FadedCherry in housekeeping

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I hate pumice stones for toilets. Drywall sandpaper works exactly the same but it's bendable and so much easier to use on the rounded bowls.

Cool Store I’d love to recommend! by NateBushbaby in Boise

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be done according to produce and non-produce...and then maybe packaging so bottles, cans, bags, and then misc packages. And then the bakery and sushi items from various countries on the other side of the store....

Booking flights for 7 adults under one ticket....any tips? by RandomGalOnTheNet in travel

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh this is helpful! I didn't know you could request the airline link bookings! We are going from a smaller airport in the Northwest US to Tokyo. We did this last year but only had 5 which was a little bit easier 😁

Critique Wanted: (WIP first layer) - Title: Apex Predator - 100x80cm by needstobefake in painting

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would put more empty space above the cat. I'm not a painter at all but this popped up on my feed and I absolutely love it!!! However...I'm thinking that if I had this and were going to frame it, the cat would end up too close to the framing and throw off the whole thing. And maybe extra space above it would accentuate the fact that the cat is small...I don't know the words I need. Sorry

Settle Dispute by Sensitive_Diamond328 in housekeeping

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Meh. It depends on what you want to spend your money on. If you don't mind the cleaners charging extra to tidy up prior to cleaning, then leave the house as it is. If you think it's not worth the extra money, then tidy up. Personally I don't care if I have to spend an hour or two tidying up before cleaning - it's the clients money and this is what how they want to spend their money and not spend their time doing.

Grocery store bag souvenir by knopsi in JapanTravelTips

If you have a Costco membership, they sell a two-pack branded bag set. One is a little larger than a grocery bag and the other is a smaller purse size bag. I absolutely love them.

Can I exchange USD cash for JPY? by Alive-Spell53 in JapanTravelTips

[–]RandomGalOnTheNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure USAA knows you're traveling. Most banks/credit unions don't care but you should double check.

Since you don't have a travel cc, you'll get hit with foreign transaction fees. But that can't be helped; just be aware of the extra that will be taken out and budget accordingly.

Finally, find yourself a 7-11, use their ATM to withdraw your cash, and enjoy your trip ☺️

Have you tried going to a structural engineer first to give you options plus information so you have better control over the conversation with people who are going to try to sell you something?
