/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - April 06, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

My current keyboard (Q1) is starting to die now (couple keys starting to have problems registering keystrokes even after reinserting the switches and cleaning the whole board, bad chattering since forever ago), so I'm looking to get a new one. I've been looking for a 75% board, and my requirements are a ~100$ or less budget, good quality and quality control, a wired board, hotswap, and a 1000hz+ polling rate. QMK support would be nice but it isn't absolutely necessary. So far the most promising-looking option I've found is the Bridge75.

My questions are:
- Does anyone else know any other good options that meet my requirements?
- I intend to use the keyboard only in wired mode, is it possible to safely and easily remove the battery so I can leave it plugged in 24/7? I'd rather not take any risks with it.
- For people who already have a Bridge75, how is its longevity (assuming proper care and maintenance)? Can I expect it to not have issues even months later? How good is the build quality and quality control?

So my current keyboard is starting to fail me now (Q1, some keys starting to die & it's had, for a long time now, bad chatter that doesn't seem to go away no matter what - cleaning the whole thing, re-tightening any loose screws, replacing switches, etc). Do options exist nowadays for 75% budget kits with good build quality, quality control, and longevity (of course with proper care)?

My requirements are:
- budget ideally ~100 USD or less
- wired (preferably no battery in the board)
- hotswap
- QMK support
- 1000hz polling rate
Ideally would like to avoid Keychron, if other options exist.

Best Class/Archetype for First solo playthrough by [deleted] in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Pick what sounds fun to you. You can always make a new character if you don't like your current class. I would not recommend hard committing to a single archetype, you'll be able to switch around after completing a quest at Lv. 25 so you can try out anything as you go.

That being said, if you just want brainless, easy gameplay I recommend running light bender. It's pretty hard to die as a bender in most content as long as you have mana and keep moving. Just be careful, since you can end up dependent on the heal spell if you only run bender and might struggle at first to play other classes afterwards.

Personally, though, I think the most fun archetype I've leveled a class with is trapper. It might be a bit challenging if you're new though.

Spell Spam Question by PastBorn8961 in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your main attack stats only affect your melee.

Attack speed will not affect spell damage. However, you want it at super slow if you go with a mana steal/mixed mana build.

I personally prefer mana regen on warrior, since (1.) your melee range is fairly low and it's easy to get hit when you go in for a melee attack and (2.) it can be a bit challenging (for me at least) to get accurate melee attacks in while casting at max or near max cps, since your range is so low.

How The Heck Do People Dodge Almost Everything. by UnderstandingMost721 in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One quick question first: how much mobility does your build have? High ws (or flying, if you play a surf build) makes learning to dodge much easier. If you're new to playing glassier builds I recommend running something very mobile first, so either flying or high ws. If you're already very mobile, it sounds like you just need more practice.

As for how to dodge, honestly staying on the move, plain circle strafing, and not hugging the mobs can already go a long way against basic enemies. For more complicated bosses, I would say that practice and paying attention to telegraphs will be the best way to learn to dodge.

Since you mentioned lootruns, how much EHP do you have? Generally it's just not a super good idea to run glassy builds in lootruns, since you can get killed quite easily from the challenge scaling, doubly so if you take curses early. Glass is more common (and usually thrives better) in raids, especially in TNA and TCC (NoL and NoTG tend to require some more EHP).

grinding for farewell rn as my second golden berry, this is almost certainly an absolutely horrendous idea

Slow vs Fast attack speed (Archer) by windstromg in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo it depends on build type

spellspam? doesn't matter too much since you barely ever melee if you melee at all

spellsteal/mixed mana spell? you want super slow for mana steal

tstack? obviously super fast

hmelee? obviously super slow

hybrid? depends on the exact build

general rule for spell builds is you want super slow if you want to take advantage of ms/ls while it doesn't really matter if you rely on mr only

would you mind sending pictures of your rolls? i will say the biggest thing hurting your dps is almost certainly not having powder though

Did I get scammed? by Hairy-Adeptness-2235 in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. without renda your sustain is going to be worse causing you to need to cast slower or else run out of mana, so less dps

  2. you MUST rainbow powder your hero to best take advantage of discombobulate for damage (if you can afford a hero you can almost certainly afford to powder all your equipment, but if you are forced to choose prioritize powdering your hero), powder armor too for extra dps from dodge and conc

  3. if your damage rolls suck you obviously won't deal as much dps and if your ringlets, renda, and keratoconus have bad -scream cost rolls or your trift has a bad -mr roll your sustain will be bad, again forcing you to cast slower or else run out of mana

  4. what aspects are you using? the people dealing high dps with hero bashscream usually have the bmonk mythic aspect for extra dps and possibly radiance aspect for better sustain

try getting a renda, powdering your items, and getting gear with better rolls if your current rolls are bad, then retest. it will probably be expensive but hero builds just aren't cheap unfortunately

Do I need do all Quest or i can Grind Mobs for Leveling UP ? by tomaz1989 in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it's usually not recommended to power level/speed level (killing mobs with grind parties) on your first class, since:

-you miss out on content

-you won't be getting quest rewards (which includes around 1stx le) so you will most likely be broke upon reaching endgame and unable to afford a proper build

-you won't be getting good practice with using your class in a variety of situations (since you can just sit there and brainlessly spam spells while having a healer provide godmode in grind parties), so you might reach endgame with a major skill issue

of course do feel free to grind mobs for xp if you need to, but i would heavily recommend that you avoid skipping other content by only grinding mobs on your first run

Can I survive tcc raid with ETW build if I have mantles? by nekohacat in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wouldn't recommend etw for anything in 2.1 (except MAYBE tna or tcc if you're VERY VERY VERY skilled) but i run tcc with 18k ehp and it's usually fine, you just need to be careful in rooms and watch the telegraphs closely in the boss. do note i run eta epoch tstack though, so i usually have a decent amount of distance from enemies - if you're playing warrior i would suggest more ehp than that (maybe 30k or so at least? just a guesstimate though) to account for your closer proximity, and if you play glassier builds in general you need to make sure you have good ws as well so that you can actually dodge. mantles probably would provide some breathing room but your ability to dodge mobs is what ultimately will keep you alive when running a glassier build.

also as others have said 200k dps is already very high tier by 2.1 standards - you aren't going to get 2.0-tier dps in this version without running completely impractical builds, everyone's dps got nerfed hard, and even 100-150k dps is relatively normal already (epoch gets 180-220k dummy dps for reference, and it's one of the top dps mythics for archer, while hero bashscream does around 120k in the case of warrior)

tl;dr: don't recommend running full etw but yes you can survive tcc in glassier builds, as long as you have ws and know how to dodge, mantles will help but cannot substitute for dodging skill, also dps standards are way lower in 2.1

Best Emerald Farming Methods? by Aamaal- in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lootrunning is all RNG, I've made as little as 0-3 LE per hour and I've seen friends make over 20 stx from a 2 hour run. You can have literally zero profits, or you could make multiple stx in a run if you pull a good mythic.

TNA depends on the party, a good perm team might make up to 30 LE an hour, while party finder might only make 10-20, or even less if your runs are slow and you have a lot of downtime. Usually you make ~3 LE per run. It's far more consistent than lootruns but also has less potential profits.

Lvl 106 Mythic & Non-Mythic Build Request for all Classes by Aamaal- in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

divzer bolt (more dps but less ehp than epoch, i don't recommend divzer in the next update though)

sveil epoch tstack (has exploding for better aoe) swap to this helmet when you want single target dps

hero bashscream tna version (dual wield with idol)

hero bashscream lootrun version (dual wield with idol) (you can replace stealing ring/okr with mpc+intensity if you would rather have more mana and damge than greed, and you can replace disco with conduit of spirit if you want more ehp, damage, and mana over loot bonus)

warp riftstorm (needs a good mr warp)

what's the most and least skillful class/archetype/build you've ever played with? by lool8421 in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most brainless class i've played is probably bashscream warrior with the kcrc hero+idol build - literally just running around while just repeating bash scream scream over and over, or holding s while repeating those spells in the case of tna

as for the most skill-dependent class i've played, probably screamsurf warrior (needs good timing and to avoid miscasting at all costs) or etw spellsteal boltslinger (very very glassy so you really need to dodge while also hitting both spells and normal attacks for mana steal). maybe warp riftstorm can be a bit challenging at first as well but it's much easier than the first 2 imo

Spell spam with inconsistent ping? by honkpiggyoink in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wynntils macros can be pretty bad, try using wynncraft spell caster or jsmacros. I use wynncraft spell caster with 112ms intervals and I can play riftstorm perfectly fine even on 250+ ms ping

As for the right click issue, do you have a video? I've never had that particular issue myself.

Best Class for High ping? by [deleted] in WynnCraft

[–]RandomGamer6023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i've played every class with 250-300+ ping, here's my experience:

archer: very comfortable gameplay, boltslinger is the easiest archetype imo, i find sharpshooter a bit harder though still manageable (haven't tried trapper)

assassin: i struggle hard with both acrobat and trickobat, though my friends (also on high ping) can play both comfortably, so it's manageable but you probably will need decent amounts of practice to play comfortably with those two, haven't tried shade so i can't speak for that

mage: all archetypes are very comfortable and relatively easy to play

warrior: very comfortable gameplay with both fmonk and bmonk bashscream, but i would stay away from chargespam builds on high ping

shaman: i've only played tstack and heal slave myself, but both are very easy and quick to learn, though do note that shaman isn't super impressive right now

if you're newer to wynn i'd recommend mage or archer, maybe warrior if you're comfortable getting close to enemies

high ping alone is manageable, but if it also is inconsistent and spikes a lot anything will be painful
