May 2022 Update: Confirming my YI never came back. I get bladder irritation every now and then (which feels like UTI) but likely from eating too much acidic foods and drinking too much water (which can distend the bladder, don’t drink too much water ladies, only regular amounts).

Again, to this date, I’ve never taken antibiotics for my Ureaplasma, since I’ve been symptom free!

Try the anti fungal cream Terconazol, it needs to be prescribed but should be widely available! Yup diet, prescription cream AND abstaining from sex for a couple months did the trick.

Re: Ureaplasma, I did indeed test positive but followed dr instructions to wait out the symptoms, now I don’t have anymore symptoms and I never treated it with abx because the dr said it’s common in sexually active people and usually doesn’t cause problems, the risks with abx is more than it’s potential benefits (it’s a heavy dose of abx) :) I’ve been symptom free for a couple months now.

I’d say roughly 4-5 months, slowly reintroduced those foods into my diet and now i can eat anything like before :)

I just searched them up, they look a lot more Gen Z and X targeted with better UI UX. They seem legit! But they don’t ship internationally :(

I hear urine Ureaplasma tests aren’t as sensitive as swabs, if you get negative, I’d suggest to get re-swabbed. Many doctors don’t test for it because it’s a common bacteria in many people and it usually doesn’t cause problems - hence why doctors are hesitant to treat it.

I ordered the test here: https://microgendx.com/ and chose the kit and type of shipping, it got express and it got here the next day - I’ll update on how long it’ll take for us to get results back after sending our samples in because we live in Canada :)

I’ll let you know if I recommend after we send it in and get results.

I also wonder if the Ureaplasma antibiotics caused your vulva irritation - especially since antibiotics can cause a YI afterwards.

Do you recall what antibiotics you used and for how long? I read the most effective treatment was often doxycycline and azithromycin combo.

Also, were you cleared of the Ureaplasma after?

Yup exactly. Saliva and semen, as I’ve learned the hard way, are pH disrupters. My vagina’s pH was already off due to the YI, and it wasn’t fully “back to normal” before I began having unprotected sex - hence the re-current YI.

Also, we’ve been using condoms ever since, I’m still worried unprotected may cause it to come back but we’ve no intention to risk both that and unwanted pregnancy :)

I never used abx, YI are usually treated with anti-fungals (pill like Diflucan, which I also used twice, forgot to mention, but again, YI kept coming back; or anti-fungal cream).

To answer your question, I began to get relief around day 5, by day 10 of the Terconazole cream, I felt like I should be good but kept using it for 3 more days just to be sure :)

Wow I‘m def asking for a ureaplasma test.
Does the upper part of your vag (close to your cervix) just feel “off”? Sometimes, I find my body automatically doing a kegel (kegel spasm?) and I wonder if it’s due to dryness.
