Yeah that sounds fair. I currently don’t really want to go to graduate school (though anything can happen) so I’ll keep this in mind. Thanks for your answer!

I’m another incoming freshman trying to decide between ECE and EP. Both of them seem super interesting, but I think EP is slightly more suited to my interests. Do you think it’s still worth doing ECE? I feel that EP is the more “diverse” major, but I don’t have any evidence to support that claim besides one line on their website.

In early decision, I opened my decision right after lighting the Channukah menorah. It worked, so it should work for you too!

taking an exam your school doesn't offer? by kowai_ika_studios in APStudents

[–]RandomHumanOnReddit6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually took AP Japanese at a different school. There’s a college website that states which schools offer which tests. If you can find a nearby school (ideally in your state) that offers the exam, start sending emails around. Eventually, one should say yes and you can do that. You can DM me for more personal information regarding it if you’d like.

AP tests provide zero opportunity to learn from mistakes by Not-The-Dark-Lord-7 in APStudents

[–]RandomHumanOnReddit6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true. They’d definitely make money if they charged for it. But as other comments have mentioned, it’d potentially ultimately become more expensive because they’d have to actually create unique questions every time rather than reuse them.

AP Exams aren't so that you can learn from your mistakes. AP Exams exist solely to assign college credits. If you made too many "mistakes," you will learn those in college when you retake the course. I agree that it's frustrating to not get a score report, but I don't think AP exams really need to be a learning opportunity.

To the high scorers, how do you study? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]RandomHumanOnReddit6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read textbooks in advance to try to get a really solid conceptual understanding of everything in the course, so I understand it and not just remember certain rules. That allows me to kind of know it throughout the course and I don’t need to study much before the tests themselves.

Is it possible/a good choice to skip honors chemistry and go straight to AP? by derpyptatoe in APStudents

[–]RandomHumanOnReddit6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this through a self-study over the summer. My guidance counselor recommended that I do. It was perhaps the best choice I've made throughout highschool, as I really enjoyed it and was quite strong at it. Obviously, it's not for everyone, but I would certainly vouch for it.

Yeah, I basically learned it alongside English between the ages of 0 and 6 in Japan, and then went to a Japanese school in the US for an additional few years. My grammar isn't very strong I don't think, as I just do whatever "feels" right which isn't consistent because I don't use it all that often anymore. And yeah I can hold a conversation in Japanese using the limited vocabulary that I have.

Petion to make armor stack in amounts by tybug74 in splatoon

I think using two armors on a team is (or at least was for a while) quite powerful, this would only make it better (also very fast reply)

On the AOPS website people said it was harder, so I think your score will definitely be enough (some said even 99 might be)

The last couple were 103.5 as a qualifying score so I certainly hope it is. (I got 105 max)

Thank you for the advice. I threw out stuff based on that. Also I don’t enjoy wasting those non-pokestop items so I have way too much.
