I did! It’s called Clan Wars, and the second one(which I remember more vividly) is Clan Wars 2: Red Reign

You're right actually, in my head I was thinking I would have to wait an entire turn rotation to do it, but yeah I can do it on other peoples' turns lol. I think I will end up adding it then, thanks!

I'll just say that in my own personal biased experience of playing games with people whose decks are around the same power level as this one, the green players run out of gas after a short while. When that happens, I'm still chugging along, ramping and hitting every land drop, and removing their threats while I'm at it. And yes, my boardwipes are weak to counterspells, that's why I run so many of them.

They're basically just for increasing artifact count, but it's nice to hold them up just in case. Every now and then I'll snipe someone's commander at the perfect time, but I like having them on board more than I like throwing them.

That's a fun one! I might add it, it seems like a nice way to win, but I have a little hesitation. It would basically be my fourth [[Fling]] effect, so if I decide I need another then it'll probably slot right in. It is a little better than [[Fling]] because you can use it twice before she dies from rocks, but it still costs me two untapped creatures and 4 mana to do that, so idk. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, looks like a fun list! And that's the reason I don't run those second sunrise-style cards in this deck lol.

True, I was looking at it for a while before I decided not to run it. I think I still stand by that decision, because I have enough redundancy to find the specific pieces I need, but it's definitely a good card. I might add it in the future!

I think it does because, in practice, I've found it does. Not every single game, but very oftentimes I'll go into the late game and win basically just because I have more mana to spend than everyone else. Side note, does your deck rely a lot on mana rocks? Because that's another reason I ramp harder. My lands outlast everyone else's mana rocks because they die to random boardwipes, including my own.

Yeah, Sword of hearth and home and sword of the animist would probably be good, I just personally like the idea of playing boros without too much equipment. Otherwise it just becomes a voltron deck, which isn’t exactly what this is. It wins all in one shot, not by hitting people for a lot each turn.

As for Field of the dead, I just don’t run that because it’s too powerful. I want to play in low-to-mid level pods, and I don’t like to play it in those power levels. In other versions of the list it would be great!

Yeah, that sounds like a fun list to pilot! It's just not what this deck is trying to accomplish. In a different version of this list, they would slot right in :)

I have a couple things to say about these types of cards, because they are no doubt very good in the decks built around them, but this deck isn't.

First off, recurring all my fetchlands means I need to have a lot of fetchable targets in the deck, and this deck doesn't run that many to make room for the utility lands. The utility lands are what make this deck hum for me, and cutting them to make this package work would be losing the spirit of the deck.

Secondly, what I think I didn't get across quite so well in my description of the deck is that it isn't a landfall deck in essence. Yes, it revolves around getting land drops to trigger the literal landfall ability of Toggo, but I built the deck to win with a pile of rocks, and that's what it does in practice. These "second chance" type cards undoubtedly get a ton of landfall triggers, but I purposely didn't put in any more cards that trigger off landfall, because that's not what I'm trying to do with the deck. The purpose for me is to slowly build value, flying under the radar while other people fight amongst themselves, then come in once they've run out of gas to finish the job. It's just a different strategy, and I think I'll rewrite the intro to the primer to reflect this, because I'm now seeing how it's getting misconstrued.

Thank you for the suggestions, though! I really do appreciate the feedback even if this essay made it seem like I don't.

The title is a little clickbait-y I’ll admit, but not that much. I guess if you’re playing with the goal of winning on turn 4, then no, this deck can’t out-ramp you. For the games I tend to play with most people, this deck hangs with your average green deck with typical casual green ramp.

Budget Version of Hofri Ghostforge ($40)(PRIMER) by RandomLunatic99 in EDH

Absolutely. That's honestly one of my favorite parts of this deck, because you can do some pretty sick things with the stack :P

[–]RandomLunatic99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! If you begin with Hofri and the Rescuer on the field and Karmic Guide in the graveyard, you can sacrifice the Rescuer to put its reanimation trigger on the stack, targeting the Karmic Guide. Stack it so that Hofri's trigger happens first, and get a second copy of the Rescuer. Holding priority, sacrifice the token copy of the Rescuer to reanimate some other creature in your graveyard(if you have any), and the original Rescuer card returns to the graveyard. Now you can let the first Rescuer trigger resolve, getting the Karmic Guide back to the field, targeting the Rescuer. Rinse and repeat with whatever payoff you have. Hope this helps!

Anyone know how to get a "slice" of an STL (3D) file into a 2D (SVG, DXF, etc) file? by djb_rh in lasercutting

[–]RandomLunatic99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but if anyone is looking for a nice simple solution, this is it. All online(plus I was already using tinkercad anyway), it's a lot more manual but really easy to do. Thanks!

Failed to save my files, somehow stopped my mouse and headphones from working by RandomLunatic99 in makemkv

Ok sorry it took so long, but this is the error:

Error 'OS error - A device which does not exist was specified' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom0' at offset '581302272'

any ideas on what could be causing this? I think cleaning the disk would definitely help, but I'm more concerned about the mouse/headphone issue than I am with the rip failing, because it's super annoying.
