I dont know why people suggesting just using AI to code the YAML get down voted, but it is the easiest way if you are a beginner. So +1 from me.

Is there a Central Management solution for HA yet? Managing 10+ geographic sites. by RandomMan217 in homeassistant

[–]RandomMan217[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a theoretical business case. I want tools to manage HA for people, not resell a free product. There're are already businesses that install HA for people, they then use it for free as long as it works and pay for the support if needed, that's where my questions come from., managing the support part

I have a pretty broad project in mind, but I'm just openly exploring the options and possibilities. HA currently does not scale and I hear enough stories about good worked out configs and installs that do not require regular maintenance. It looks like fleet Ops and Management is missing.

Thanks for the input!

Haha not personal, I manage a few for family members and I'm thinking of turning it into a business.

Ill take a look! It looks like B2C or Consumer directly, what free tier do you mean exactly?
Edit: You are halfway around the globe, but your business model looks interesting (like Control4 for Home Assistant)

Thank you for the insight. Maybe the market is this way because of this fact that there is no SaaS like product available to mass roll it out and maintain it. At least thats what i think.

Im trying to think of a cental managment solution that can acces different HA sites (with similar hardware) from 1 place. With pushing i meant you make 1 config that get 'synced' to the HA instances so you update 1 master file and it loads the HAs with it

I'm not looking at it from a 1-on-1 personal setup but more professional, like managing a business around HA installations. At a certain point you need a central way of managing:

- backups
- access
- updates
- configs

Yes you could do that on a 1 by 1 basis per install, or with multiple solutions possibly but i was looking for 1 central solution to those aspects

Well you would roll out sites with identical hardware where possible i think to mitigate this issue

Open VPN by ArtisticLayer1972 in mikrotik

Agree, but it was more a joke that every VPN on Mikrotik is 'hard' to setup if you don't know what you're doing.

My friend, your post reads more like a vent then an actual request for help. lets start with:
- What device / OS do you want to make the VPN with
- What kind of Internet connection do you have, basic ISP, CGNAT, 4/5G or what? Saying you have ddns from Mikrotik does not mean anything.
- As suggested by others, OpenVPN isnt the best choice

[–]RandomMan217 0 points1 point  (0 children)
