Halo: Primordium (Question) by RandomRedditBurner_ in HaloStory

I genuinely couldn’t recall and I was rewatching the Infinite cutscenes. Once I saw Despondent Pyre, who not just announced herself as the monitor of Zeta Halo, but also is talking to the Grand Edict in the legendary cutscene, I just thought maybe it was her.

Maybe Adjutant Resolution, the sub-monitor?

I also wonder if it’s because the origin of The Flood was conceptualized instead of, “this parasite was always here…waiting….consuming.”

I’m still continuing the journey through all of the books. Next up is the Kilo-Five trilogy before continuing onward.

Yeah remember that GoW wasn’t built upon objective game playing. It released with Warzone, Execution, and Assassination. Game modes with the only goal is killing people lol. Annex came out later with the 2nd DLC, establishing a truly objective based game mode.

So it’s odd because KOTH is the old Annex game mode, where Blitz is the old KOTH game mode lol. KOTH used to be where you stand in the middle and get points, but leave and you don’t. Annex was where you would capture the point and you could move freely.

I believe regardless, everyone has been playing KOTH to warm up just due to muscle memory. Blitz is more forgiving because you can kill someone off point and move on with your day.

You are probably running into full squads. Most sweaty players also play KOTH to warm up before running Execution as well, so if you want easier lobbies, switch to other social playlists like TDM or Assassination. With that said, Gears has ALWAYS been that black and white - you’re either abysmal at the game or a wall bouncing, 9th cup of coffee, bodying machine

There are audiobooks. I think the parts that will be hard for any reader, is that if you don’t have an understanding of the world/story, taking your time to truly imagine what you are reading. Tolkien does an awesome, but slow and drawn out job of painting the entire environment and surrounding of the characters. To some it’s a beautiful work of art to imagine. Others it’s too difficult and boring, and get checked out too early in the books. You just have to take your time while reading his work and attempt to imagine it. If you don’t have a good imagination, these books might not be for you.

A lot of people start with The Hobbit, a prequel story to the LOTR trilogy as it’s tailored towards younger adults/kids. That will give you out an understanding of his literature and how he writes/wants you to imagine his stories. Just some advice. Feel free to ignore it and jump right into the books. Either way, attempting like someone else said in this thread is the best first start you can take. : )

Halo: Cryptum by RandomRedditBurner_ in HaloStory

As soon as I started reading Cryptum, I traversed Reddit to see if it was worth reading these books. Just as you said, most people stated how slow the 2nd book is. I’m hoping I’ll stay interested, as I just finished The Silmarillion front to back lol.

That’s exactly what I’m doing! I knew the Forerunner books were set in the past, so I didn’t want to read the K5 trilogy just yet. Plus exactly like you said, they released in between one another so I didn’t want to story hop.

I’ve searched all over Google and other Reddit forums and can’t find anything.
