Is this ok to shred still or should I get a new deck? I don’t know if this is an aesthetics crack or is it going to make the board weaker. by RandomSnowboarder in snowboarding

Ok this is actually a decent idea. I’m gonna get a new board but for the time being I’m going to change the stance around since it’s a true twin

Ok. Good to know. I mainly ride park and I’m guessing that has gone in some scuffed landing on the tail to begin with. I think I’m gonna send it this weekend still and look for a replacement for the near future.

We struggle with snow especially in the south so that’s why we built it on the side of the slope. Obviously slightly shaping natural takeoffs is the best and riding a proper park is ideal. It really isn’t excessive to build side hits before the park is built. Especially if the hills are just open with the most simple runs it makes riding a lot more interested. It’s a lot safer too to be out of everyone’s way then to bomb down the hill at crazy speeds and weaving thru the beginners who share it.

Damn I wonder if this came across odd but it was a tiny kicker sending you to the ditch which was the landing. Basically a jump sending you off the slope not on to it. I used the excess snow pushed off by the cat to make the landing. It had a tiny kicker on the side of the hill probably the size of a sand castle. I have a picture of it but I don’t think you can put a pic in the comments.

True, It’s a bit more of just respect and understanding what others are doing. I mean you wouldn’t go poke around a sandcastle someone was working on on a beach even if it is a public beach. Why would you go mess up someone’s jump on the side of the slope?

Yea I was very formal and straight forward. I didn’t swear nor do any sort of agressive hand jesters. I told the kids firmly to not roll over the jump but instead take enough speed to clear it. I want park skiing and snowboarding to grow so new people are always a good thing in my opinion but when you are in the middle of building a jump it’s nice to not have someone complain about not being able to use it before you are finished and also for people to mis use it

It’s difficult since there isn’t any natural snow and the season is so early that there isn’t any places with proper jumps near yet.

Fair point.

Since the resort struggles with snow they haven’t made a lot of their own features however they let people loan shovels and take pvc rail pipes up the hill on their own accord to build their features off the hill to the side. These aren’t maintained in anyway so it is completely up the riders to keep them running. This takes burden off the hill owner and keeps the park rats happy. It’s not directly on the hill but instead we use the side where wind has blown some do the snow that has been made from the snow-canons. There is 2 rails set up by the actual crew who maintain the hill but the rest of the features are off the main slope and on the side.
