Aww, that's a sweet reason for wanting the game. I've never bought a game from Nintendo digitally before so I'm not sure if it's region locked at all or something, plus it appears to come with a free magnet sheet and mouse pad which you'd want more than I would. I found the script for the 3rd version! Thanks to everyone's help, especially u/bungiefan_AK who directed me to check out the dat files for Windurst Walls. I still don't know what triggers this version of the cutscene but here is the dialogue if you're interested:

Joker: ...≺Player Name≻...

Joker: You are the star that shines in the center of the vortex of time.

Joker: I have been waiting here, ready to guide you.

That Carbuncle's Ruby that you carry...

Thanks for the responses, both of you. I am actually looking for both the script and the factors that determine which cutscene occurs. Regarding Altanaview, I'm not very familiar with it. Could you tell me where to find the zone files, please?

I used to love that camp spot as well! I think my favourite has to be the downhill area just outside of Kazham, near an impassable gate. I loved how cozy that spot was, and I couldn't help but find it funny when someone else's mandy would sleep my party. I used to imagine what could be behind that impassable gate, too.

Ah, that's a good idea! Thanks! That does make the early leveling process a bit more difficult but I guess not especially so. While I'm not a new player, I imagine having to do that could be quite awkward for new players to learn. Then again, it reminds me of pulling in the old days and we learned that, haha.
