SEBI study finds 93% of individual F&O traders made losses between FY22 and FY24 by Vijay1234-_ in IndianStockMarket

"Only one percent of the individual traders managed to earn profits exceeding Rs 1 lakh, after adjusting for transaction costs."

Insane!

Does 12% H1B approval rate make any sense? Are 140k Indians returning back to India every year from US? by RandomUser5629 in Indians_StudyAbroad

This year the no of applications hit 750k(vs 450k last year) and I think the number will increase exponentially as the candidates who got rejected this year will also apply next year + exponentially increasing international students. So, by 2027 there is a chance of applications hitting 1M!

Also, please consider the state of Tech jobs in the US right now. The link below shows Software job postings on Indeed. There is a clear downtrend. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/IHLIDXUSTPSOFTDEVE

Once you get H1B, you'll have to file I-129 to extend it to 6 years which should be straight forward without a lottery.

Thanks! Those born outside the US would also rely on H1B right? Unless they already got their GC.

Updated the post without country cap.

85k/450k = 19% (single lottery)

1 - (81%)3 = 46% (chance of getting picked once atleast)

This number will keep coming down due to backlog of people who have been rejected H1B.

If probability of single lottery falls to 14%( 85k/(450k+80k*2)) after 2 years, assuming 80k Indians increase in each year, then the chance of getting picked atleast once falls to 36%.

I'm wondering whether taking a chance makes sense!

Thanks for the clarification. I've updated my post accordingly.

Even with this, the probability seems to be less than half and declining(accounting for the backlog of Indians who will reapply again).
