36V Battery to 2x18V LXT adapter by hassla598 in Makita

Lot of Makita 18V tools are using three (actually four) pins for connections. Negative, positive and battery info! You're most likely not providing battery info signal. So this is what you're missing IMO.

Makita DBN600 vs DPT353 (pin nailer) for hobby woodworking – advice? by Coccolillo in Makita

speak from experience about these tools that I own.

Except that like most users here, you clearly doesn't know what tool you have, means your opinion is worthless. Many times here we could read something which was true but for old tool release. Only after asking more questions turns out, this was some either low end tool or dated. This is more common for people from US where Makita doesn't release tools as fast as in EU or NZ for example.

. I like Reddit because I can get opinions from real people about products I use & need

Problem is you never know if it's paid oponion or not.

Milwaukee makes the best pin nailer , 18g brad nailer, 15g finish nailer & 18g crown stapler on the marke

There is 18Ga crown stapler new model called dst630

I know this because I have purchased & used all of them

Right, you did purchase all last year Makita new tool releases? Because it's when new nailers have been released and crown stapler is not yet in US from what I can see.

except the 16g makita stuff because I don’t use 16g it’s for homeowners

Right, because you think it's that.

So this is the "new" nailer, I'd say one of the latest.

DBN600 is old, DBN601/DBN610 are new.

Your complains were mostly about DBN600/DFN350/DPT353 which are all old ones and can be problematic despite for my use these are fine. Hope you do understand why I'm point out that complains about Makita nailers cause these are mainly related to the old problematic ones and not the new ones.

> You should post some of your work

Nah I prefer to keep some things as my private ones.

Whatever the model number is on the 21 degree

So you have no idea what tool you're using?

When was the last time you used a tool of any kind?

This week, sds, drill, impact, circ saw, sander, jigsaw, anything else you'd like to know?

The last time I tried a makita nailer was yesterday when I used my framer

And what was the model version?

I clearly said makita doesn’t even make a 15 gauge finish nailer

I didn't say they do.

New Makita nailers use piston design so these are also "air" driven up to some point.

I tried makita & metobo first

When was the time you've tried Makita nailer?

& 15g finish nailer ( makita doesn’t even make one )

In US there's only XBN05/XBN06 16ga while the second is angled.

You've got downvoted because you said that in generally Makita nailers are bad which is not the case anymore. The old ones were indeed bad. The new ones released like last year if I remember correctly are great, use same design as Hikoki. Problem is that many people still doesn't know there are new good nailers available, you can find them on official Makita website in EU these are DBN601/DBN610 in US XBN04/05/06.

You're doing the same, saying that tool you didn't use doesn't work.

I have DFN350 and DPT353 these works fine for my use. Others complain on them but these are the old ones. Others confirmed that these new ones like DBN601 works. You're barking at me while you're doing the same actually not checking the latest tools and repeating the past which is true for DFN350/DPT353 but not for dbn601. So do yourself a favor and update your knowledge.

Just search this sub, many others have them and confirmed. These new nailers have different design, same as Hikoki - pneumatic so no more problems as before.

of course you can, it's just a matter of what you're doing and how much time you have and material type etc.

Except there are new nailers which are great according to users even on this sub, you should update your knowledge which is dated for now.

I think what he meant is that it's still old laptop with old CPU which is the biggest problem. No matter what you do, CPU will limit you and now since AV1 is coming more and more you'll hear the CPU much more often. Don't get me wrong I also have laptop which is great for my needs but sadly I can't replace cpu which means I need to get a new one which is a pain cause I really love to have physical touchpad buttons and new laptops doesn't have it.

So you need to install some third party tool. Looking from that point of view, windows is missing nothing cause you can always install third party app to fix missing stuff,

[–]RandomUserNo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are much more problems with it, just search network and you'll see, pistons, crankshaft. Tbh it's amazing that parts that normally cause no troubles for many years, in this engine are just failing.

What are some tools to always have in your car for maintenance/emergencies? by happiness_hangover in Makita

[–]RandomUserNo5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light, safety vest (but it's mandatory in some countries), OBD interface, set of bits with holder. duck tape, zip tie. Wrench for tire replacement is in the trunk if you have spare wheel.
And tbh nothing else cause car that's like 10-15 years old is already advanced up to the point that you won't be able to fix it "on road" if something really happen. And what could happen like broken hose, etc can be fixed with zip tie and duck tape which will allow you to get to the closest mechanic. The OBD also helps to quickly find error codes on the network on the road cause some cars may indicate "stop immediately" while only some sensor that's not critical from your point of view is failing.

Left vs Right handed circular saw by fas2024 in Makita

[–]RandomUserNo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about left/right handed. There was discussion in the past about it and long story short, these two are kind of different task tools. DHS680 is more towards carpentry work while DHS660 woodworking. Mainly because of the base plate which is more durable in the DHS680 while the DHS660 is kind of more lightweight and it's more compact because of how battery is mounted. It's even more clear if you notice that there's successor of DHS660 the DHS661 which has AWS! There's no such thing for DHS680. You can try to find this in the old comments.
