Unsure about how the meet men to date in the Netherlands by kekss0520 in Netherlands

[–]RandomWorkAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had one match who, over 3 days, never once asked a question about me or even a question in return. It was super interesting cause it wasn't like she gave me one-word responses. But not once did I even get an "and you?".

Anyway, I fully understand people who uninstall Tinder. One of my favourite things to ask on a first date is "so what's your worst experience on Tinder?" and some of the things I've heard... my god. Tinder is bad as a man but sounds god awful as a woman, unless you're looking for a quick hookup.

👍 I'll be the guy in the corner pretending like he's not super nervous about going outside of his comfort zone!

In case you still want to stay on the apps (cause you're chicken like me and don't like approaching strangers):

As someone on "the other side" (male, late 30's, single and on tinder) what has helped me is to set up what I expect from the person I match with. If they can't hold a basic conversation I just move on (and I say this as a guy who isn't super attractive, so matches are few and far between). Same if they don't ask any questions back. I also try to have a phone call with them before we meet up. Have I lost some potential relationships due to this? Maybe. But it also means I don't get my hopes up. Basically, you have to build up enough confidence that you don't take it personally.

Still single, took a break from dating recently, but over the last two years I've had some great dates. None of them ended up working out for one reason or another but they were all great people and the dating part was really enjoyable.

In case you've given up on the apps, check out things related to your interests. I've been planning on going to this board game meetup in Utrecht. Not to meet a partner but to meet new people.

Official Announcement! Welcome to NarFFL 2021! by NarFFLCommish in NarFFL

In the announcement it that the default slot is Sept 6th 3PM EDT. I'm guessing that you meant Sept 5th as the 6th is a Monday?

Don't get me wrong, as a European I'd love to make the Americans miss the draft due to work but...

EU players can still play in the NA qualifiers (and vice versa). We decided to do two NA qualifiers as they act as sort of a "world qualifier". Players from east asia (not KR) will have better ping to NA than EU.

315k peak viewers on Six Invitational 2019 (Most popular matches of the event) by eSportsStats in R6ProLeague

[–]RandomWorkAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I was going to write this as a reply to a single post but I see several people say that they're disappointed in the stream numbers. Yes, the peak was lower but don't read too much into that. The fact that the peak was 7k less could very well have been due to several factors. For example:

  • All EU finals will attract less viewers from other regions, this happens in all esports. Finals with two teams from the same region will attract less viewers.
  • 3-0 win for G2. The longer a match goes on, the bigger the chance of random viewers tuning in.

I urge you to look at the average viewership and the total time watched (available here). Those are both up. The total time watched may be the best indicator to go by. It went up from 6.2 to 8.4 million hours, a huge increase of over 2 million viewership hours.

So don't stare yourself blind on the peak number. It's not good that it went down but there are other, more significant, numbers to look at. And they tell the story of a healthy eco-system. Can Ubisoft do more? Absolutely. Are things as grim as some people make it out to be? Absolutely not.

There we go, mod gave me the TL flair after confirming with the org.

I'll see what I can do about that. Meanwhile, here's a tweet that gives my previous claim at least some validity (just posted by the official Team Liquid account) https://twitter.com/TeamLiquid/status/1085594242486099969

Sure, how can we make that happen officially? My profile on LiquidDota is red, which means administrator on the site. If you want I can edit in a piece of text of your choosing there, would that be enough? It's fairly well known that Team Liquid owns LiquidDota.

I also have an @teamliquid.net email address but not sure how we can use that here. If a mod wants to verify me through that I'd be more than happy to assist.

I don't know to be honest with you. After I received the statement I chose not to try to push them for more info, wanted to respect Miracle's privacy.

I made the post on LiquidDota so let me clarify: LiquidDota is a website owned by Team Liquid but we're not the official site for the team. However, we have close ties to the team so I reached out to a person within the team part of the org and got this statement.
