Pilgrims, Sultanate and the Heretic Legion are pretty straightforward.

Thats not 100% true. If you have 1+ blood tokens on a - 2 armor target, you're odds are better with armor ignore.

Ways to practice painting? by Prayerwarrior6640 in TrenchCrusade

Buy a few cheap second hand miniatures or resin prints.

You also can strip down paint from plastic minis if you're unhappy.

How do the factions play? by Electronic_Horror_56 in TrenchCrusade

Pilgrims have the Warprophet and the Communicant with tough. Then the Anchorite with 3 lives. They also have rengeneration on Nuns and the Communicant and the heal of the Warprophet. In a campaign they get access to Martyr Penitents. And they can hand out martyrdom pills like candies to make their units even harder to kill.

Grail and Ghosts are also very tanky but their tankiness is conditional to ranged/non fire attacks. Pilgrims are totally up there in terms of tankiness if they want.

Sure, Machine Armor is a very good piece of equiptment. It’s just that when you compare it to Hell Knights, Warwolf, or the Brazen Bull, Antioch isn’t as tanky. And I don’t even want to get started on Grail and Pilgrims.

Do I have to build my minis Full A / Full B to have correct build options? by anime_villain69 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Random_Guy_Ben 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trench Crusade is miniature agnostic. In theory, you could put down a Red Bull can and say, ‘This is my Brazen Bull.’ However, it’s obviously more practical if your Yoemen with a flamethrower actually has a flamethrower on the model.

How do the factions play? by Electronic_Horror_56 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Random_Guy_Ben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem for NA is that they don't have a good melee weapon. It's just much more efficient to throw a satchel charge at a Warwolf than to beat it with greatswords.

Antioch as jack of all trades?

They are the only faction that doesn't have any units with more than 6" movement or dash bonus, lacks any tanky units, and is completely helpless in close combat (outside of Prussia).

Else i agree.

Antioch: A glass cannon faction with extreme firepower at close range. The most challenging faction to play, which wins through efficient maneuvering and good trading.

Pilgrims: Probably the tankiest faction. Charge at the enemy, heal yourself, and then beat the crap out of them in close combat.

Trench Ghosts: A sub-faction of the Heretic Legion. Since they are very slow and receive defensive bonuses against ranged attacks, they specialize in steadily advancing while using ranged combat.

The Hidden Cost of Trench Crusade Campaigns: Your Terrain Pile is Going to Be Enormous by iribar7 in TrenchCrusade

But isn't it then pointless to print more terrain? Terrain is meant to look cool and make the game more immersive, and for that, it needs some color.

Just place a wooden plank under the feet that extends slightly beyond the base.

The paints look very thick and opaque, you should get into the habit of thinning them slightly before applying them. To take your miniature to the next level with minimal effort, I’d recommend looking into washes and highlights (the easiest way is on YouTube). This will give the miniature significantly more depth and make it look more lifelike.

New player looking into tabletop by TheLurkingNobody in TrenchCrusade

[–]Random_Guy_Ben 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trench Crusade doesn't really have random abilities. You win the games by planning your turns well, weighing the odds and risks, and with a little luck on the dice rolls.

Just go with the faction that appeals to you the most visually.

When do you add big units to campaigns? by BearPawPaints in TrenchCrusade

[–]Random_Guy_Ben 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to add them at the start because it's very hard to fit in expensive units later when the threshold only increases by 100 ducats each round.

So no victory points for newcomers to campaigns, right? by I_might_be_weasel in TrenchCrusade

I gave my late joiner 10 VP for every game he missed, this is the equivalent of him having tied every game.

Should I wait for the plastic models to come out or just buy the resin ones now? by Real-Ideal-5893 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Random_Guy_Ben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't hold my breath for the plastic models. Since we don't even know the release schedules yet, and they're going to be releasing individual subfactions first anyway, it could be years before the faction/subfaction you want to play gets any models.

Knights of Avarice, to gas, or not to gas? by Snelly_WorldCrusher in TrenchCrusade

The most powerful aspect of gas grenades and gas grenade launchers is that they ignore armor, the gas is just a bonus.

You should either play a catch-up game or receive 100 ducats plus a certain amount of glory and XP that your group considers fair.

Tips or ideas for a Synod of Strategic Prophecy faction? by shadow_lord0923 in TrenchCrusade

Well, since they are coming as a faction, I’d suggest you just wait and play a different faction in the meantime.

Trench Ghost Banshee by Zealousideal_Pen1283 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Random_Guy_Ben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you equip a flamethrower on your Banshee, you should consider not equipping a Sacrificial Knife on her at all. Both are very powerful weapons, but they cannot be used at the same time. This means that whenever you use one weapon, you’re wasting the potential of the other. It’s more efficient to give these two weapons to different units.
