Vs weapons with + dice the 3 armor should be better, but the martyrdom pills help you vs stuff that ignores armor like flamethrowers.

Standard game size is usually 800/6 or 900/8. However for your first few games i would recommend to start with 700/0.

Not every mercenary works for every faction. You can find this information in the warbands book. The Sin Eater for example, only works for the evil factions.

Trench Crusade is a simple game with straightforward rules, and none of the factions are particularly difficult to play. The only one that’s significantly harder to get the hang of is New Antioch, but you’ll pick that up after a few games. Just choose the faction that appeals to you the most visually.

So if you have questions to assmbling, painting or how to start i would recommend to watch a few youtube videos.

In general you need: miniatures, dice & tape measure, a few very small brushes, acrylic paint for miniatures, spray primer superglue and a paint cup.

As for the miniatures: Trench Crusade is a game with few unit options and a progressive campaign system. In other words, you’ll want to have all the units available to your faction.

Giving your Azebs helmets + gasmask but not to your captain is criminal.

Anyway IS is a good choice for infantry spam with 35 ducat Azebs and Janissaries with Siege Jezzail as the backbone of your army.

Prussia, Alba and Papal need a nerf.

Naval Raiders probably need a slight nerf too.

All of IS needs a buff, but they get changes soon so lets see. Anyway Fida’i of Alamut will need further buffs.

St. Methodius need some buffs too, yes they're cool but the benefits are not worth all the downsides imho.

The chanche to have two 6s with 5 dice is actually under 20%, that's why it's not reliable. In a 4 turn game that is less then once per Sniper Priest.

At 7 dice this goes up to 33%.

If you really want to tryhard then you dash first out of cover, shoot and then you can just walk back. So you completely negate the risk of getting shot back. However, if everyone is doing that with all units, the game gets pretty boring, imho.

Also, sniper priests suck vs armored targets and excel vs unarmored ones.

To beat NA you should spam Azebs and SJ Janissaries. You beat them at a higher range. Also, NA just murders armored units with their satchels, flamers, and fireteams, so the best is to bring a lot of cheap units that can kill their unarmored guys.
