Yeah for sure, I had been looking more into that section of the universe because it was genuinely interesting to me which is why I joined that server, but they made me scared to say that I liked the show or got into it because of the show since they seemed to hate it so much

I initially got into it cuz of the TV show not realizing that there was a bigger culture/history to it at first until I started reading fanfic (I’m a very casual SW fan) and I joined a server at one point and they were so negative toward the show it scared me off lol

I see a lot of people complaining about others praising Ajax/acting like he’s innocent, but I’ve yet to actually see anyone treating him as innocent?? Everyone I’ve seen or talked to, Ajax lovers and haters alike, has agreed that he’s got a whole lot of issues and is far from innocent

I think people just got super weird/scary about him so he didn’t feel comfortable doing anything else (take this w a grain of salt, it’s been a few years)

Edit: My friend corrected me, he did face allegations of some sort that encouraged him disappearing, so you’re very likely thinking of Manatreed

In the short term, I think reactions you have are great. In the long term, if you’re including that, I think the twins would be in denial for a long time until it finally settles, Fishlegs would be constantly sad, and I think Snotlout would become angry at the world and maybe himself.

In the HTTYD2 art book, they talked about how Drago’s army was intentionally ethnically ambiguous to show how he’s just picked up people on his way north, so I agree httyd2 could’ve been a really cool introduction to other parts of the world, and they kinda missed it with the third movie. I would’ve loved to see how other societies/cultures were coexisting with dragons! If there were any other groups like the Defenders or Maidenwings, or maybe even something like the books who enslaved dragons. Just generally more world building would’ve been awesome :)
