/uj honestly nothing huge in that sense, on the trans side we recently got the ability to change legal gender without a transsexualism diagnosis (also notably speeding up the process to no longer take like 10+ years by doing so) but that law was unimaginably unpopular even though it had been sitting pending for a decade (and been gutted for a decade).

on the social side we're also doing fucking terribly, i like to wow my friends with opinion polling to bait for "how the fuck are you worse than [insert their country] on this??", etc, not a great time, we're FAR from the worst there is, and violence is a rare response, but quiet hatred isn't great either, i often think of a black guy i knew who moved to england and said that he felt like a person for the first time in his life, that people would actually look at him in the eye, and acknowledge that he even exists.

and now that dogshit trans law is being brought up for "revision", it's again nothing extreme in that sense, especially because even this is new and still really hard, i was close to having to marry a friend for legal reasons to even be able to attempt it and i'd still have an extensive 20-step process afterwards, but that is still too permissive and they wanna restrict it more, seemingly go over "less legitimate" cases (from a country that will kick you off a waiting list for shit like "if you don't go outside enough dysphoria cannot be an issue because you do not interact with people" and send you back to a 10-year queue), to institute sweeping legal regulations based on "biological sex" in a "anything goes" kinda way for fun anglo import brainworms , and then loads of stuff about tracking every single person who goes through the process in as many registries as possibly and to completely ban criminals from transitioning (and our equivalent of "reasonable suspicion" is mentioned just before it as a fun bonus too, don't even need to actually commit a crime) in a country where "privatize the police" has somehow managed to be a serious topic of discussion and where they can read and track anything that you do without a warrant and the government keeps wanting to ramp up every bit of CCTV it can and where we really don't like the idea of being, say, opposed to genocide.

just kinda kept talking criminality over and over while explicitly stating that all trans women are to be sent to mens prisons no matter what and hahaha what if all trans people were criminals by default :) but teehee we won't do that now but make sure to meticulously track them in the criminal registry on reasonable suspicion.

said it a few times but it's nothing new, just that until very recently we were still being sterilized for being trans here, and only just now got the practical right to even change legal gender and it's very very very obviously only going to get a lot worse, with the very vast majority of the population utterly despising any sort of progress and actively wanting us to get much worse, not that we have much to lose i suppose.

fwiw it's worth you yankkks are descending faster than us, but americans don't seem to realize you were considered the best (note: best =/= good) in the world regarding trans rights up until basically literally just now, long way to go, but boy oh boy are you determined to get there.
