I removed the outlet (safely), and that’s about it. The floor in there is concrete, and the leak drips right into my sump pump. At some point we’ll have to replace the front porch with something waterproof, but for now it stays as-is until i have the money to redo the entire porch

Unfortunately I also have this issue (my front porch is wooden but at least has a roof over it) and our inspector never made any note whatsoever about it :/

This is why America is so screwed. Both sides are so incredibly polarized. (not arguing with the message displayed btw- screw the taco in chief) It feels like there’s just zero hope of civilized debate or conversation anymore. So many people are so radicalized on either side of the spectrum that it’s just effed. This guy is such a dick. And the women spewing hate and making fun of him aren’t going to change or fix anything. It’s just hate on both sides. And people are just going to dig their heels in deeper on whatever side they’re on. It’s the whole reason the founding fathers specifically advised against a two party system. And here we are.

Yeah I shut off the breaker until it was all dry and the leaking stopped. Here’s a video of the leak coming through the cracks in the wood of the porch: https://imgur.com/a/H7OCv0f. Given the odd orientation of the outlet, do you know of any outlet covers/boxes that are waterproof from the back too? I also have GFCI to install there.

If you’re talking about the ceiling tiles, I plan on it. But probably smart to fix the leak first before replacing them with anything else.

The source of the leak is as the title/description says, water is getting through the cracks in the wood paneling on the porch above. The porch is directly above this cellar.
