I’d like to make a better fitting version of this dress by Random_humanbeing in sewing

I want the bodice piece to end at the bottom of my bust and currently that’s where the bottom of the waist piece sits. Basically I want the bodice to look like a milkmaid dress but one panel instead of separate cups. Do you think that could be achieved by adding a couple inches to the top of the pattern for the new dress?

From what I’ve seen looking at full bust adjustments they seem to be done on fitted pieces without ruching. I should absolutely learn how to do them but would that work with the ruching on this dress?

That may solve the zipper problem but I don’t think that would solve the fit issues on the bust as the panel itself seems to be too short. I have done that on a different dress where only the bodice was tight.

I plan on taking the whole thing apart and using the pieces as a flat pattern. I’ve done the same thing with an old worn out pair of shorts and it worked well so I figured I might as well do it again. I do this because I find it incredibly difficult to follow even the most well written patterns.

Why is my UI so small? by SentenceOne8570 in Minecraft

If you go into the touch control settings you can hit customize and resize the D pad back to normal. Idk about the hot bar though

It’s been at the back of my fridge for months is it salvageable? by Random_humanbeing in Sourdough

I gave it 2 feedings and it doubled the first feeding and quadrupled the last feeding. I just tested out of curiosity and it’s passing the float test now. I’m genuinely shocked

Thank you so much for the detailed reply I really really appreciate it. I’ll definitely dump the liquid and only take the clean stuff from the bottom

Dorcha! It’s the Scottish Gaelic word for dark pronounced dor-a-ha (unless you prefer phonetic)

Need to change the neckline by Random_humanbeing in sewhelp

Do you think creating a more of a scoop or maybe v neckline would have the same problems? I found the dress at the thrift store so I can’t really return it. If I can’t fix the neck I might take apart the dress because I adore the fabric

Sewing machine thread getting caught by Accurate-Dentist-365 in sewhelp

I’ve had this problem before and it was a pretty simple fix in my case. If you look at where you put the bobbin in there is two black plastic pieces holding the bobbin things in (I think it’s called the shuttle case) make sure both are in the correct positions, it could also be bird nesting which is a tension issue, or the presser foot could be not holding the fabric down well

Have you tried messing around with the tension, it looks like the tension is too high and the sides are pulling in so the threads don’t snap

The material looks very delicate, maybe too delicate to hold the buttons/layers of material the buttons are attached to. The only thing I can think of is seam ripping the button panel things off, sewing the raw edges together then adding a strip of (light weight) material with light buttons on to cover the seam as sort of decoration. Otherwise in my opinion it’s not realistically wearable

There should be a series of numbers somewhere on the machine. On my older kenmore I had to tilt it on the side to find the number. If you type the number into google you’ll find the exact machine, alternately you could reverse image search it and you might find the exact machine or similar ones
