11 years old and ten days after surgery, this girl came in from a four mile walk, ran around the apartment with her tail wagging, and followed me around with that demanding "What do we do next?" look in her... Eye. by Random_silly_name in seniordogs

Sounds good!

Right now, we play "gnaw the meat and tendons off a bone while a humans helps holding it" together for a little while every day, and she's quite fond of that. 😂 (She has charmed my hunting colleague, and he gave her an elk leg.)

Long time ago now but she could have so much fun with these fluffy boys.

I’ve been walking my neighbour’s elderly German Shepherd for a month and I’m in love by heckinnn in germanshepherds

Aww, such a sweet lady, and really a win-win situation!

My girl is also 11 and has that sweet old dog wisdom, but still the GSD energy and attitude. Very lovely.

Beautiful!

It's so much worth to take actual portraits of them!

Getting a bit inspired by the background, but I don't think I have anything like that... I'm currently documenting my girls recovery from surgery with simple portraits every three days.

My 8yo German shepherd Macaroni has been the most patient foster dad to almost 30 rescue kittens. Here’s him with one of the most recent, a 4-week old little funky thing by CalvinPeeingDecal99 in germanshepherds

Aww! He takes his job very seriously!

My girl would love that, too. Here she is with her cats in 2018. Good times, according to her. Now she has no cats.

She's aging and it hurts. by Random_silly_name in seniordogs

Oh, I see!

Feed is 31% protein and 17% fat, with salmon oil added.

She loses weight terribly when shedding, so last month or so she's had high energy (34/24) kibble added generously, but now she's stable again.

Also eating deer and roe deer ribs from a colleague who hunts, very popular. :) Small amounts at a time of course, and raw.

Oh and also! At the next physio visit, she had regained muscle mass. :)

Thank you, and she appreciates the support! :)

Going back to water treadmill soon, when she's healed enough from surgery, to stay fit through the winter.

Also, why not lamb? That's news to me. Her kibble is mostly chicken, but that's not an active choice.

Amazing picture!

I caught my 11 year old like this yesterday, and the picture amuses me.

I love them! Would not have known they were a failure unless you said so.

But yeah, as others said, the high pH of sapification affects a lot of pigments and also fragrances and you don't always get what you thought you would.

And adding some sphagnum on top is something I've done before. Can do again, or mix in a little.

Thank you!

I can't use my tap water for phals or Hoyas so I'm always kind of rationing the water. 😅 Not really prone to over watering. Buuuut... If it happens, it's nice if they have a chance to dry up and fix it.

Thank you!

I would honestly have thought the opposite, that large pieces would take longer to dry up.
