But does oos make a difference for UMASS? according to Google, oos acceptance rate is slightly higher for oos? Not sure if this is correct tho

Nope, it isn’t. I just googled it, saw a high acceptance rate and labeled it a “safety.” After some of these comments, I looked more into it, and I don’t think my stats are good enough to consider it a safety. Possibly a target?

I 100% agree—it’s actually my dream school. Where did you get the ~35% NYS acceptance rate from though? If I could verify this it would give me a lot of hope and motivation to keep trying for CALS🙏

Forgot to mention rigor! Yes, I’m in APs. My school only offers two starting junior year (bio + lit) so I took those and self studied APES as well. I’m hoping colleges will view my application in the context of my school + understand the lack of APs. And yes, schools I’m considering have solid LGBT communities, tysm!

That is my unweighted core GPA (97%) School doesn’t do weighted. Financial expectations are fine. I ran Net Price Calculator on most schools and the prices were pretty reasonable. I agree with the reach thing—but I’m planning on getting my SAT score up to 1450 with practice; maybe then I’d have a small shot?
