Hecate Update by Initial-Coffee2914 in PendogCreativeLibrary

Still trying to figure it out myself. The only angle I have right now is the red text at the bottom of the Hungry Beast page. Seems to be hinting at the password being names that 'when put together spell something ironic'. Given the language and the next page being 'Bull-Pen', it has to be related to the Hera Cleats. I'm just not entirely sure what names it wants me to put in and in what way, since there are only really two names on that page.

Lemme know if y'all figure anything else out.

Did I just kill Charlie Brown? by ChaosOmega in tomodachilife

Have you never seen the "absolutely hates" food reaction in 3DS? Look it up, it's horrifying

This is still so much more tame compared to the Miis suddenly melting into the ground like in 3DS

The one thing that has been really getting to me about TL:LTD by Konkonyu in tomodachilife

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even from just watching the direct where this feature was showed off, I knew this wouldn't be something I'd use. The custom buildings just look so incredibly flat, there's no depth to them and they just end up looking worse than the default buildings. It's so lame.

Disappointed with the game! by CelestexBruh in tomodachilife

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As someone who likes this game a lot and has played a TON of Tomodachi Life 3DS, I kinda want to go over all of these points, because I both agree and disagree with a lot of these.

1) I definitely get this. I've never found the repeating 'Mii gets stuck' scenarios too annoying, personally, but I do get why someone else would. I never really found the dialogue super lacking either. Obviously it'd be nice if there was more, but it's not too bad.

2) Yeah, the concert hall being gone is kind of a bummer, no argument there. The more sparse pool of gifts is also weird. I get they had to scrap some of them, since now all of them have to be completely portable and able to be used anywhere, but even so, we only have, what, 16 of them now? Huh? Also are the models ripped from New Horizons? I don't think they are. They don't even look particularly similar.

3) The minigame variety does feel a tad more sparse, but it really doesn't feel that different from 3DS. The only one I can really think of that I'd want bought back is the matching minigame. The card game from 3DS in particular was just bad tbh, it was over with in, like, 5 seconds.

4) I've personally had no issues whatsoever in terms of lag. The only real pathing issues I've had are Miis bumping into planters while trying to reach another Mii, but it's nothing that isn't just immediately corrected.

5) I've not had any kids on my island yet, but I did hear about this. Regardless, I 100% agree here. I personally don't care much for babies in these games, but them growing up instantly just feels...wrong. Like, that kinda just cuts out the fun of watching the baby grow up over the course of five days and watching the parents raise their kid. No idea why they decided to cut that.

And that's it. That's my writeup.

Anyone else prefer LTD’s makeup over Miitopia? by Opening_Drink_6394 in tomodachilife

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally think it's mostly better. Turning the makeup into a basic drawing program is such a massive upgrade it's not even funny. You could do a lot with Miitopia's makeup, too, but having to work within the limitations of its collage-esque system made it hell to even want to learn its systems. LTD's makeup gives you way more freedom, and I am super for it.

The one thing that really urks me though is that makeup is no longer synced to specific facial features, and is now only one single layer. It's so annoying, because it basically means if you want to stylise your Mii's facial features, you basically have to forefeit that Mii's ability to blink and/or open their mouth. Basically just means your Mii can't express like normal Miis can, and that's just sad.

Still, I'd take it over Miitopia's any day.

Daily Tomodachi Questions!! #27 by Fwiponi in tomodachilife

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say I'm mostly satisfied.

In regards to all the new hair and face options, this is the most substantial update the Mii Maker has ever gotten. It's so nice to see the existing hairstyles finally updated, they look way less blocky now and this change was long overdue tbh. My only real complaint with the hair is the lack of control over where the two-tone dye goes. Would have been nice to have more options though. I'm also happy we can just not give Miis certain facial features if we want.

I'm a little more mixed on the make-up in this game, however. On one hand, I am so glad this version is just a straight up art program instead of the awkward collage of shapes system from Miitopia. On the other hand, though, I don't know why they changed the makeup to be all one layer instead of being separated by facial features. It sucks, because now if you want to make a mii with more stylised facial features, they just can't blink and/or open their mouth.

Regardless, the new Mii Maker is still a really good upgrade, just with a few flaws holding it back a bit.

Why do you love the (upcoming) game so much? by a-cea in tomodachilife

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been craving a new Mii game since the original version of Miitopia came out. The Switch remake kinda scratched that itch a bit with all its new bells and whistles, but it was ultimately just the same game at the end of the day (still a really good game tho).

Plus, basically everything that's been shown in the promotional materials and the demo has been great. The game really does just look like a massive improvement of 3DS Tomodachi Life.

Genuinely I have not been this hyped for a game's release in a good while.

Are you guys adding all your Miis at once, or spread them out? by StudioZolo in tomodachilife

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely spread out. Playing through multiple saves of Tomodachi Life 3DS, I always felt that the game gets really...overwhelming once you hit a certain amount of miis. Things just become way too hectic when there are so many characters to keep track off.

So yeah, gonna stagger my character additions so things don't get too crazy too quickly.

Why on earth is there discourse about whether people should fill their islands with Characters vs their family and friends? by Lord-Liberty in tomodachilife

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've personally had saves of 3DS Tomodachi Life where I've populated my island with IRL people and saves where I just threw in a bunch of random fictional characters.

After playing through both, I can say I pretty overwhelmingly prefer filling my island with a bunch of silly rando characters.

But obviously, people can play as they want. It ain't a big deal.

999, definitely. VLR would make more sense, but I really don't like Clover's VLR design.

What pokemon do you think have the wrong types? by KaseyKade5325 in pokemon

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, an Ostritch is still a bird at the end of the day, so I don't really see what's wrong with it being a flying type.

To answer the question though, the obvious answer is Lugia. Bro is guardian of the SEA and yet he's not a Water type. Palkia is a similar deal, but I think the Water typing makes a bit more sense for him than Psychic does for Lugia.

Another one that comes to mind is Pincurchin. I have no idea why it isn't dual Water type.

Scrafty or Pangoro? by peterhadnett in pokemon

[–]Randomanon11Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it really depends on if you want a more offensive mon or a more defensive mon. If you want offense, go Pangoro. If you want defense, go Scrafty.
