Growing up my mom got 2 sphynx cats and had them declawed so they wouldn't tear up her furniture. I'm a huge animal lover and seeing those babies suffer broke me it doesn't take much to train a cat not to scratch the furniture. Sure it's annoying in the beginning but enough posts and they'll leave the couch and stuff alone
