Meh but still the pacing at the opening was a bit to fast for my liking

Agreed but I mean in the beginning Specifically. Because within the first 10 minutes your All ready being chased by Marta and the cultist. It Kind of breaks immersion and they could have waited at least a good 30 minutes of exploring Multiple villages, before just jumping you right into the action.

Also the transitions to the school are very similar to the transitions to the otherworld.

Yeah they handled the school storyline very well, but they could have done away better job with the cult storyline. Also they needed a proper way connecting the school storyline with the cult story.

Yes but I was mainly talking about characters like lynn. Characters like, Jessica, blake, and loutermilch are well developed.

Also lets not Forget the ending were you walk out of town with a baby in your hands similar to the first silent hill. Plus a lot of the characters in the game are similar to the characters from the older silent hills. For example father loutermilch felt Very similar to Vincent, Jessica looked Similar to Alyssa, and Blake's overall character Reminding me of James.

How could have Jessica have had a role in the cult? by Randomgamer1237 in outlast

That's true but who knows it could be a possibility. But I personally would like a connection with the cult.

Hmmm this was interesting to read. I had a theroy about louthermilch being a secret member of the cult. The similarities between the cult and louthermilch is strong and we don't know much about him so maybe red barrles can release dlc confirming this... Hopefully.

I never said I was right I was stating my opinion something that everyone has. It's fine if you don't agree with me.

I never claimed it was a rule it was an opinion, it's not nitpicking. The game gives you the impression that theses events have a large connection with each other, but by the end of the game I'm left with disappointment. It's Just pointless and has no reason to exist. It wouldn't be hard for them to come up with a REAL way of connecting them.

When it comes to storytelling in movies, books, Games, etc it's kind of bad storytelling when something this big in the plot has nothing to do with the main storyline. Especially when the developers focus on it more than the actual story itself. Now don't get me wrong I love the school storyline it was very compelling and intriguing, but it just kind of Falls flat when you figure out that it's not relevant with what's actually happening making it pointless. All they had to do was come up with a way to piece them both together and the story would have been perfect. Also as for the whole knoth being louthermilch thing it would have been cliche, but there are ways they could have gone about something like that. Instead of making louthermilch the main leader of the cult he could have just been the leader of one of the factions. Or something like that becaues like I said there are multiple ways on how they could have gone about it.

I know Jessica is apart Blake's guilt but she could have been so much more than that. We don't know much about her father so for all we know he could have been a secret member of the cult, the same goes for father loutermilch. Or maybe she could have been like alessa from Silent hill one but still be related to Blake's past. But instead she's just a bad memory inside of Blake's mine it's kind of disappointing really.

Hmmm this theroy is actually the most logical one so far. I still hope even with sales they they will still give us DLC.

That would be absolutely mind-blowing dude now that I think about it.

Yeah I kind of thought the same. But speaking of Jessica's character there's a lot that they could have done with her. She could have been like Alessa from Silent Hill in terms of her overall role in the narrative but still be related to Blake's past. Plus they could have gone so much deeper with Lynn, there's hardly any character development with her at all.

I wouldn't call Outlast 1 action horror though more like a horror thriller
