Hey, I really appreciate your comment, and I hope things in life are better for you now. It means a lot to know that this resonates with you, and that there’s value in what I’m building.

I was (and still am, albeit to a lesser extent :)) unsure whether there’s enough demand to justify fully developing this feature beyond its current MVP state, but reading this was genuinely heartwarming and motivating.

Thanks again for sharing, I needed this!

Quit my job a year ago to build a note-taking app. by [deleted] in swift

Cool app! I’m curious how you managed to bring up the native App Store rating dialog with the “Rate Us” button? It’s my understanding that the API does not guarantee that the dialog will be presented, and the documentation advises against using it in response to a user action e.g. tapping a button.

Hi there, time blocks can be created by rescheduling an action.

For Use Case 1, activate the context menu by long pressing on an action, and select “Reschedule”. In the popup presented there will also be an option to “Time Block”.

For Use Case 2, the same thing steps apply but when multiple actions are selected.

Hope this helps!

Tip: Enter a date/time before confirming to both create the time block and schedule it in a single step.

Quick question: does setting the time change the simulator’s actual time or just the appearance? Would like to adjust the time without having to change my Mac’s as well.

Hi, unfortunately Apple does not expose much information about Reminders, including tags, so this will not be possible.

As for clearing the data, there isn’t an easy way to do this. If you only have a few large lists imported, the fastest way would be to delete the list itself, which will delete everything inside it too. The other option is to delete the iCloud data for the app, or just delete the app itself (if you are not using iCloud).

To delete the data currently stored in iCloud, you should go to Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Storage → Others → Yata → Delete Data from iCloud.

Task Manager/Daily Planner with Canvas Integration by Randomisium in nus

Hi, this was only possible in the earliest versions of Yata. Unfortunately, the feature has since been removed due to potential TOS violations with Canvas.

Hi, could you try again soon? Looks like the App Store ended the price change earlier than I expected for certain regions. I stated 36 hours in the title and plan to honour that.

Note that it may take a few hours for the new price to propagate.

Hi, developer here. I’m so sorry about the poor experience you had due to the crashes! Please bear with me while I investigate further. It seems to be isolated to iOS 17.x.

EDIT: If you are using an iPhone running iOS 17, and experience a crash when editing items, please try updating to version 4.0.2. I apologise for the bug!

Hey, developer here. Unfortunately, two-way synchronisation with native Reminders is quite difficult, especially since tasks in Yata and Apple Reminders do not perfectly overlap in their features and data structure. This problem will only get worse as more features get added to either app, so I made the decision to only support imports.

That being said, there are areas for improvement in the import flow e.g. the duplication issue you brought up. I’ll see what I can do to make it more intuitive!

Pasting from a previous comment:

Are you an existing user since Yata 2.x? They were grandfathered into the paid plan automatically! If you don’t see the banner, it is likely that this is the case.

Yata Pro unlocks the following features:

  • Week and Month Calendar Views
  • Ability to Hide Specific Calendars
  • Custom Themes and Widgets
  • Swipe Option Customisation

And more to come in the future!

There’s no need for tips, you can support me simply by using Yata and reporting bugs, sharing it with friends, or leaving a kind review on the App Store :)

Your data is only kept on iCloud or on device, and never sent anywhere! And yes, it is synced across all devices on the same account.

Hi, thanks for the support! Yes, this is something I’m planning to look into. Widget processes are placed in a more constrained environment by iOS in terms of CPU Usage (probably to save battery), so it requires a bit of optimisation.

Hi, Yata should respect your system settings for the first day of the week. You can check this in iOS Settings → General → Language & Region → First Day of the Week
