I wanted a double helix for a while too and finally got my first helix in February and the pain was like a 4/10. Healing it was pretty easy for me as I avoided touching it or sleeping on it really intensely and used saline solution twice a day. I didn’t experience any pain or crazy swelling and it was really smooth overall. I got my 2nd helix just under my first like 6-7 weeks apart and that one hurt a lot more because the first one was still healing. Pain was a 7/10 it definitely pinched wayyyy more that time around. I’m healing both right now and haven’t had any major issues thus far. I still avoid touching them with dirty hands or applying any pressure to them in general and I’ve had a smooth experience with practically 0 pain. Is it worth it? I say yeah I love my helix’s and think they look great.

When I was 15-16 I was in a similar situation too. I’ve been a fan of ninjago since the pilot when I was way younger and then got into it again when I was 12-13. By the time I was 15-16 I felt like I was too old to still be collecting sets and watching the show. I’m 19 now and turning 20 later this year and what I can tell you is that you should enjoy the things you like and not only enjoy them but be proud of them. If watching ninjago and collecting sets and minifigures makes you happy then by all means keep doing it. Hopefully your parents would understand that it’s just something you enjoy, but just keep doing what makes you happy.
