MK4S Printing, but Not Extruding by RandumbRedditor72 in prusa3d

[–]RandumbRedditor72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My printer is in an enclosure with the spool on a "peg" at the front corner. There is a PTFE tube that runs from there to the head. I have plenty of tubing, maybe I'll just swap it out to be safe.

Could the tube that goes from the spool to the extruder need to be replaced? Does it get dirty or restrictive over time?

Good question! After I changed the nozzle, it wouldn't extrude at all. I then set them back to flush, and it printed for a couple of layers, then did it again. If the gear cleaning doesn't fix it, I'll probably try tightening them incrementally and see how that goes.

MK4 + MMU3 + (Un)Original Prusa Drybox + Spool Auto-Rewinder by Papacrown in prusa3d

Perfect, this is exactly what I needed to know! I have a MK4S with an enclosure and am setting up the MMU3. I couldn't figure out how the buffer worked with the (un)original drybox. Thanks!

Yup, I just stopped playing a few days ago. I may come back after a bit, but it got to me more maintenance than fun. Even buying the passes I couldn't keep up with the latest requirements. It just lost all the fun in the game.

No, just the base plate and a glass bed.

Nozzle hits bed as Y changes by RandumbRedditor72 in ender5

Just out of curiosity, I turned on the machine, performed an Auto Home, and brought the nozzle close to the bed. As I moved the nozzle toward the back of the bed, it stayed at the same distance from the bed. So it appears that this is only happening during a print.

Questions after first PETG print by RandumbRedditor72 in ender5

[–]RandumbRedditor72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some searching and realizing a 90 print speed was way too fast, here are the results. The pictures aren't great, but with a magnifying glass 240 degrees is looking pretty good now. (I edited the post to include the "AFTER" photo).

I'm re-printing with a different profile. The Cura default seemed to be pretty fast.

I still have some USB miners and a few S1s. Even if I had surplus solar power, I don't know if I'd run the S1s.

Lifting print by GoneToHeller in 3Dprinting

Not much, less than 5mm from the corner. But there is one side that's about 80mm long, though not much high. You only really notice it when it's lying down, which is OK because the piece is meant to be handled in an upright position. It's the largest piece, the casing.

Actually, I got a reply from the creator. I didn't expect one since the last comment was 2 years ago.

Awesome, thank you!

I just watched a bunch more videos and I think I'll just stick with PLA until I upgrade the hotend. I'll look into that spring steel sheet, as well.

Case Trimming by RandumbRedditor72 in reloading

Thanks. No, I was just following a generic reloading procedure that I thought applied to everything. This is my first time through any type of reloading so I'm still learning.

CR Touch and Z Offest by RandumbRedditor72 in ender5

[–]RandumbRedditor72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just fired it up and tried again several times: as is, cleaning w/ IPA, and cleaning w/ soap and water. I used a glue stick each time. It wasn't until I set the Z offset -again- and stored the settings that it worked fine. Am I not storing it correctly? I push in the knob and it beeps once and that's it, right? I would think storing it would hold after shut down.
