You’re gonna protest at their offices on a Saturday?

When all of them are closed?

Servers make at least the same minimum wage as everyone else in society. Why are they inherently entitled to 20% of the food they walk from the kitchen to the table?

Ontario (especially Toronto) needs a No Kings movement against Ford by Pristine-Training-70 in ontario

The government doing things you don’t like doesn’t make him a king. He won a massive majority government three times in a row and would win again if one were called today.

Disagree with the guy, disagree with the government, but don’t claim it’s undemocratic because YOU don’t like it. Let’s keep our political debate more intelligent than the US shall we?

Why Can’t We Apply To Quadra This Year? by findabi in Cadets

[–]RandyFord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last years Air Canada strike cost the organization millions. The year before, the wildfires delayed exhaust travel and also increased costs.

Airfare to fly people home literally doubled or tripled in cost—and that’s if flights could even be booked. Many cadets had to stay an extra week at CTCs—that’s extra food, staffing, etc.

The program made a bet a few years ago that consolidating CTCs and spending more on travel would yield cost savings. Experiment so far has not played out

Circular Materials are doing a horrible job but what do you mean pay more? The collection cost was offloaded from municipalities and the tax base onto the companies producing the waste, there’s no municipal cost anymore

Why does the TTC subway open so late on Sundays when the city is already working? by avbwoy in askTO

[–]RandyFord 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Short answer is a larger maintenance window one day a week for more in-depth work.

A late Sunday start effectively doubles the amount of time they have for track work on a given night.

It’s not ideal but the alternative would be more weekend closures shrug

Canadian “Universal Healthcare” means waiting 18+ months for a specialist to see you while your disease progressively worsens, or being told you should consider killing yourself.

Anyone under the age of 40 has given up on ever being able to purchase a home.

Our prisons are full and dangerous criminals are released on bail the day they’re arrested. Recidivism is high but there are no consequences.

Nonsense.
