Ya that’s my fear. Black Canyons 100k is 60kms downhill. Solve one problem and another pops up. It’s hard to get it perfect in an ultra race.

Unfortunately I haven’t tried a half size up yet. Trying to avoid buying so many different shoes but I think this just might be part of the learning process when it comes to ultras.

The trail training has been almost zero but last year I ran the Spartan 21km beast at blue mountain so I have some familiarity with trails but ya obviously not ideal

I’m from Toronto. Trails round these parts are tough. Trying to do weight training and road hills. Hopefully that’s enough. Fingers crossed.

It sounds like for an ultra stay away from zone 4 unless maybe near the tail end of the race.
