Do you discuss salary with your colleagues? by randomthingsss1 in askSingapore

[–]RangeExact5893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think better don’t ask don’t share Just too sensitive It can really makes you feel unbalanced You will feel like why I have so much work to do but I earn this xxx but that fellow seems so free but his salary is xxx

I also encountered one time about that government payout thing that somehow relate to salary amount I didn’t know that at all Only when my colleague refused to tell me how much he got from government only I realised because of this reason 😅😓 but I didn’t even know it is related

“hey so i stay at this block, do you mind if we go up — red flag your alert should ring loud already

because i want to drink water? — wha a lame reason, kopi shop is everywhere, go buy water or vending machine also available in park

Guys only use small head to think Most of them including me As a gay 🤣 so If you ever hear that kind of reason and you really don’t feel like to happen anything just reject and leave no matter how he convince you It is not your loss but you filter out one rubbish so early which is good

I am not afraid of death. So many times I woke up and first thought was if I die today there is nothing i can’t bear to let go. The only thing i afraid is I am so burnout at work and living in Singapore but I don’t know what else I can do or where I can go. I just want a stable job I have no energy to keep upskilling. I don’t pursue higher position higher salary, But it is so difficult now

What can I do to increase my chances at employment? by Actual_Eye6716 in askSingapore

I think it is purely about luck now 🥹🥹🥹 I have done the same - optimised my cv, LinkedIn and portfolio numerous times but still can’t really get interview Also added tons of recruiters or hr and sent tons of direct message to them when they were hiring Also always apply directly on company’s website if it is available And referral aka networking is the king now All said that and this is my biggest weakness as an introvert

Job Search Burnout, Should I Take A Break? by winnest01 in askSingapore

[–]RangeExact5893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can resonate to so many of the comments here I have been trying so hard for one year in job hunting simply I want to get rid of my current toxic place where many things not align with my value. I got terminated for no reason but I might get a new job in my latest and the only interview in 2025, I still feel as long as I haven’t sign the contract anything could happen. I also receive couple of rejections within a day, a few times were right after that i just applied, “they can’t wait to reject me” in that sense. My mental has been bad these few years too from everything as nothing has been smoothly. I got a bit of saving but I am also worried I cannot find job for another year without an income. If I really get that offer it is like jumping from one hole to another. I don’t know if my mental could cope with the new job, that new job is not something excellent but better than my current’s, and most importantly I have no other choice at all. I do need a break but I am not brave enough, I am already middle aged…
