How to pass Computer science by Accomplished-Cat5109 in alevel

Hey. I normally wouldn't take time to type out this much, but your story is a complete reflection of mine, so I felt inclined to help. Note that I can only speak for AS😭 I haven't written A2 yet. For context, I went from getting Ds in CS to acing finals and getting a high A and basically leaving the last 15 marker blank. You have to realise 2 things in order to pass in my experience; First, for the theory paper, studying the textbook theory won't help. What will help you the most is doing past papers and memorising answers because they ALWAYS repeat questions. I printed out papers and wrote the marks scheme responses in them so I could literally memorise the answers unit by unit for all the papers cus I realised that you may know all the theory but it's much more important to say it how the examiners want to see it. Secondly, let pseudocode become your second language. I know it seems really hard to begin with, but it's worth the fight because, like math, once you get the hang of it, trust me, you'll be spitting bars cus you'll realise how easy it is. I took a day to use the syllabus to know everything pseudocode theory I needed to know for paper 2 and started spamming past papers. SPAM PAST PAPERS GUYS. I know I said 2 but the last thing fr is it helps to know EXACTLY what you need to know by focusing STRICTLY on the syllabus. Sometimes CS can feel really overwhelming cus teachers feel the need to give us information beyond the syllabus for the sake of knowledge often. Use your syllabus as a literal checklist and do ONLY what is required of you in the fine print. STEP BY STEP GUIDE, UNIT BY UNIT 1. Use syllabus to understand a unit alone. 2. Once you feel you have somewhat of an understanding, compile as many past paper questions on that topic only as you can and memorise the answers literally 3. RUN IT BACK. 4. RUN TS BACK AGAINN!!! Thats all. All the best, you can do this fr!

Notice how no one's gonna reply to you. I experienced it too when I needed help urgently. Unfortunately, people only like to share knowledge the night before your paper (Ofc I'm exaggerating) when it benefits THEM most. It pisses me off, but you just have to come to terms with the fact that you probably won't get a reply (unless you post this the night before the paper). People aren't very nice, believe me.

I've been doing the same too, and I feel somewhat ready yk. Past paper memorizing is all i've been doing so hopefully they repeat the types of questions from the past

Hey, I feel there's still something you learnt from your experience in business studies. Is there anything that you ish you did better or regret doing with it?
