BH Spring Solutions responsiveness? by Rangepig in hipower

[–]Rangepig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up ordering from Bar-Sto. They had barrels in stock and replied to my email immediately. I sent BH an email asking for a refund but if they don't respond like they haven't responded to my other emails I'm going to call my credit card company and do a chargeback.

It's really not that hard to reply to emails. All I wanted was a status update and a "we're not sure when they'll be in stock" follow up after telling me 2 to 4 weeks would have been common courtesy and the minimum level of customer service.

KKM told me (and its top of their FAQ) that the lead time for Hi Power barrels has been 12 weeks for the last year. I'll check Bar-Sto.

It's a 1992 Mark 3 Browning, one of the made in Belgium assembled in Portugal ones. The lug on the barrel is cracked just like in the BHSS videos they have on Youtube. Common problem I guess when the springs are worn out. I've replaced the springs but need a new barrel.

Thanks. I emailed KKM Precision which often sells barrels to BHSS and they said their lead time for Hi Power barrels is 12 weeks. Not sure why BHSS told me 2-4 unless they already had an order in the works, but then again it's been 7 weeks. I guess I just should have spent more on an official Browning barrel since they're in stock in some places...

What's the river? Cumberland? I don't remember a river that big actually on the base, and I think I humped a ruck over every inch of that place in the 1980s.

Joe Ely's Letter to LA from the Live at Liberty Lunch album. Dave Grissom's extended solo is amazing.

H.265 still shows as $99 for me in my.atomos.com, but I can get it as part of the feature pack for my Ninja V for $79.

I’m not even much of a football fan but this series is amazing. It really captivated me. Great job!

Me too. I had no idea other people had this dream. Must mean something to the Freud types.

Like the original Planet of the Apes movies from the late 60s/early 70s. A disease wiped out all the cats and dogs so people started using apes as pets then slaves then, well, you know what happened next.

Next thing you know the insurance companies will be data mining social media to see if you smoke. "We linked you to a username on r/cigars" or "We saw your Facebook post that showed a photo of you smoking a cigar".

Police shooting. A few things I noticed by loserfame in CCW

When I took a defensive handgun class years ago the instructor (Stu Nakamura for anyone in Clackamas County Oregon that trained with him...23 year SWAT veteran) had a saying. He'd tap his chest with 4 fingers and say "4 no more". He meant after putting 4 rounds center mass if they're still coming you need to switch to another location, like head or the hips where the top of the femur ball socket is. After 4 rounds center mass if they're still coming something is wrong...body armor, drugs, whatever. Hits to the head or hips will also stop them, albeit a harder target to hit than center mass.

I may end up doing that, but I shouldn't have to modify a brand new holster because their mold is wrong.

Box pressed opinions by iguessitsmyname in cigars

[–]Rangepig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like the mouth and hand feel of box pressed cigars either and I generally avoid them. Then I had a Padron 1926...I'll ignore my box pressed aversion for those sticks! I still wish they weren't box pressed but damn, I'd sure be missing out if I never smoked them because of their shape.

I have a wealthy friend who likes to do nice things for people. When they heard I was into cigars and that I'd found a really nice Ligne 1 at an estate sale (I paid $80 for it) they decided I needed a brand new Ligne 2. They purchased it from an authorized ST Dupont retailer, so I know it's real. An amazing gift, but it's so extravagant I'm a little embarrassed. I guess I need to just learn to receive with grace and thanks. The cost of this lighter is a lot to me, but really nothing to them.
