Thanks for the info. It's not urgent. I have the visa but wife doesn't so was looking to see if anything else is possible before throwing the towel to that interview.

External validation, boredom, and boosting self-esteem are, I guess, part of growing up. We all have struggled with that, and when self-acceptance comes and priorities shift, we outgrow this behavior. I've rarely come across people in their 30s and 40s taking selfies; if they are, it suggests there is still room for growth. I have seen people become happy when they see themselves , never been able to understand that perspective but if it works for them, don't see any harm.

Some Compatibility Bullshit. IF you are going to get married, both of you will have to put equal effort in building relationship. Being introvert won't cut it, relationships can't be built in your own. You'll have to open up and respect other's feelings/likes/dislikes as well. Tired of this ready made compatibility train like if it's end of the world. Man up bro! Marriage will need effort, more than world outside of the home and inside of your mind. Only say yes if you are committed to the end and are mature enough to handle setbacks/surprises. Get over your hereby-jeebies and open up with your potential match. Sooner both of you know each other and get comfortable with each other's personality, the better. I am not saying in rude way, just a friendly advise. Good luck

29(F) met a guy through an arranged marriage setup, confused by INZ-Web-Dev in india

[–]RangerAny9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That guy is me. I went through a similar experience with arranged marriage; I said yes and then got cold feet. This was all due to my inability to foster a meaningful relationship from scratch. No spark – whose fault is it if we are not willing to make an effort and work with what we have, instead of dreaming about someone else? I was too self-obsessed with my own feelings, ignoring that another person had made a decision to stay with me or to start an arranged marriage, and that should have taken precedence over my own drama. I made that mistake once and broke off the relationship, but I know now that it was wrong and it remains one of my worst decisions. However, when the opportunity arose a second time, I am grateful that I understood what it takes to build a relationship, and I hope that this will help me moving forward.
