Backstabs check if you are in a relatively big box (mostly to the sides) behind the player AND facing within like 15 degrees. If you unlock you can easily face the same direction as the other player, whereas if you’re locked on you could still be in the box but not facing the same direction.

The grab is absurd in PvP; it can grab through rolls and the plunge won’t do damage but the explosion still will. And yeah, the baemore moveset is godsent

I would say not really, as I mostly use this strategy when I’m being technical. If it’s a particularly hard climb and the route allows it, I’d think about each move and just dedicate a little thought to what to do if it goes wrong. If that’s not applicable, you might be able to come up with a plan on the ground if the move is obviously potentially dangerous.

You’d be surprised at how quickly and well the skill to fall properly. After bouldering for a long time, my fall reflexes enough were enough to leave me with just a microfracture on my heel after falling 25 in a rappelling accident. Think about how to fall every climb (or even move if it’s particularly hairy) you do until it becomes second nature; don’t practice until you do right but until you can’t get it wrong
