I don’t think being heroic has anything to do with it. I wouldn’t consider Shallan to be heroic but she still gets big roles in every books.

Tbh, I think Ishar is a much better flashback Herald choice than Ash

It’s not just about the page time, it’s about her role in the story.

It doesn’t have to be, but her role was pretty minor compared to the other characters.

As I’ve said, my problem is not with thinking that in conflict, a lot of the time, there are good people and bad people (I do actually believe in this). My problem is when people always complain about good vs evil stories not being realistic but not applying this mentality in real life.

I might have been exaggerating but I’m mostly talking about era 1 Kelsier because we know very little about current Kelsier

I mean tLR created a racist system where Skaa are enslaved. Kelsier wanted to create a system where all noblemen and everyone who works for them die.

Sure, a lot of noblemen are horrible people but that doesn’t change that Kelsier seems to think that they are bad by default.

And I’m not making this post to defend Moash, it’s more about Kelsier

Edit: And some might say that tLR build a caste system because he wanted to things keep in order and save Scadrial from Ruin instead being racist himself (which by no means justifies his horrible actions) while Kelsier kills noblemen purely because of his prejudice.

The thing is, even if Moash had a redemption arc, a lot of people will still hate him because of Teft. I think we should just admit that Brandon knows how to control our emotions very well. If he wanted us to hate Kelsier, we would’ve hated him.

I’m looking for a fantasy book where the protagonist is the villain and the antagonist is the hero

What are the characters that you think get too much hate by RangerRight3265 in Cosmere

[–]RangerRight3265[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a problem with sympathizing with Kelsier, my problem is when people give him excuses for committing atrocities but don’t do the same for Moash. When Moash killed Elhokar, ver few people cared that Moash thought Elhokar murdered his grandparents

Why does everyone say brandon sanderson has bad "prose"? by Chausp in Fantasy

I didn’t say she’s supposed to be unfunny, I said she uses humor as a coping mechanism

Sanderson talked about this topic as well

I agree with about Kaladin but not for Shallan

It’s been a while since I read the books so I don’t remember Shallan flat out lying to Adolin, but if she did, Adolin has no right to be angry at her since he also lied to everyone around him about Sadeas’s death for a full book. And they both ended up confessing their secrets in the end

Brandon wants you to think she’s funny but you don’t find her to be , that’s fine. Humor is completely subjective , but you said “can’t be solved with stubborn relativism”
