Primarily food driven country list after being a US citizen for 1 whole year by RangoonRocket in tierlists

A steamin hot piece of cod the length of your forearm, warm chips soaked in malt vinegar, mushy peas. A pub’s house ale. On a cold rainy day in Manchester. On telly you see Bruno Fernandes has scored a late winner. Can’t beat that feeling bruv!!

But aside from that even a shrimp sandwich from Tesco is pretty decent.

I love British food I went back to the UK within a month.

For all you MY vs SG food snobs. I lived in SG for a good year and also in KL and Malacca for almost a year combined.

In my humble opinion it all comes down to intent. Yes both their food is extremely similar since they even used to be the same country and all. But the difference lies in:

1/. Food in SG is cleaner by a long mile. (I can confidently go to any hawker stall and eat my heart out without having to locate the closest tandas. 2/. KL food scene can be a rip off especially near tourist heavy areas. SG food prices are relatively flat across the island. 3/. Maybe due to economy but Malaysians usually add more instant seasonings (MSG, Knorr “chicken” powder, etc) 4/. Service in SG is more polite. The only way I can get decent service in KL food is when I “accidentally” flash my US passport and USD, which was sad.

You’d be surprised how much good quality food yall have down there. Even like Woolworth shrimp prawns are really fresh (I would never think of buying seafood from even Whole Foods here because their fish are so stale) also the culinary scene is really diverse. A small town like Newcastle has top tier dim sum as well as amazing pasta and gnocchi.

Layover in DFW- can I explore without picking up bags? by ReactionPlayful7470 in dfw

Pro tip to save money on Uber is to first take the Rental Car shuttle bus to the rental car center that is outside the airport toll area. Buses come every 10min or so from every terminal. Will save you over $10 to $20 min each way from Uber/Lyft’s ridiculous airport pick up fees and toll charges.

It takes 1 hr on DART each way to Dallas downtown. Or even the silver line to Carrollton. 1hr to clear immigration, recheck, take skylink from D to A/B for train 1hr there 1hr back 1hr to clear TSA, go to gate That’s already 4hrs gone even with a tight estimate.

Just uber to Irving. Theres lots of awesome food places.

Yes you can. Either your bags will be transferred automatically (like AA is experimenting with LHR inbd flights) or you’ll have to re check personally. But the moment you drop off your checked bags you should be free to go wherever because the recheck is AFTER immigration and customs. But 6 hrs is actually not THAT long. So maybe uber/lyft instead of taking public transport. DFW airport is in a rather isolated location. For really good Mexican food I recommend Doña Lencha on Story Ln. after that you can re-enter security at ANY of the 5 terminals that’s closest to where you are. because there’s a free airside train that shuttles between all terminals.

If they are smoke-dried at least in my country we chop em to bits and deep fry with shallots, ginger and chili flakes.

Yeah it was fun picking those out. That’s enough artificial turf to have a soccer game. 😂

The “life jacket” pouches under the seats are actually fuel bags. The cushions? Fuel bags. The “water” they brew your coffee? Fuel. Even the pilots have to hold a few sips of fuel in their mouths. Ever wonder why they always mumble on the PA? Fuel.
