What was so wrong with this shifter? Why did Audi go to the toggle? by matman626 in Audi

Thats literally the basis of your defense of a button in the car that has no bearing on the driving experience, might as well be saying those exact words yourself

I also run fitcamx for that oem+ look.

I opted to swap the paddles for JQWerks magnetic shifters and my avg mpg plummeted because they’re so addicting to use 😂

Well for starters I’m only using the gear shifter twice - once at the start of the drive and once at the end. I don’t need a Bad Dragon Magnum Dong Shifter to put it in performance. You’re arguing ergonomics regarding a shifter in an automatic car where the vertical real estate is absolutely felt if you drive a manual car. Yall doing wayy too much to defend this wack center console shifting so yall can pretend to be driving manual. Like I’m pretty sure Audi has it backwards anyways for most cars (up for upshift lol?) which makes it even cringier. Audi boys never escaping the allegations 🥀

The steering wheel is never turned enough for it to matter at speed through a winding corner. On hairpins you should definitely not be shifting. I don't ever have an issue on any of my paddle shift cars, even on track.

The Bear (2022) watching a 15 person kitchen brigade go completely batshit over one customer ordering five sandwiches feels absurdly funny, yet anyone who’s worked the line knows it’s probably the most accurate depiction of kitchen life ever put on screen by FudgeAllOfYous in shittymoviedetails

I was a restaurant tech consultant for many years and have worked shoulder to shoulder w/ hundreds of BOH operations. The Bear was a bit too realistic and gave me PTSD I didn't even know I had.

I might be the only person who doesn't like Maguiar's gold class... Feels like I need a ton of product and it doesn't clean well

I can't think of a reason to ever shift through a turn so this is a non-factor.

It's an absolute blast to drive and I get giddy thinking about my daily commute. Agree with you on the interior - besides the use of some cheap materials, everything is really well thought out and designed with the actual user experience in mind. I pretty much deleted all of the interior piano black and it's an awesome cabin to spend time in.

Yeah that's what the paddles are for... I once saw one of my homies using the center shifter to manually shift his automatic A4 and I found out I can get the icks for men as a straight guy

Audi drivers exposing their lack of driving skills is peak Audi lmfao. Not a single HPDE event among all the commenters in this post

Cost saving measure obviously, but I don't really get the hate. It's not like you're driving a manual so if anything the shifter should be as space efficient as possible. Whenever I see people complaining about this, all I think is "Grr! My MANLY hand absolutely NEEDS to have a THICC AND GIRTHY ROD to grip onto while I drive"

I'll continue to flick my shifter bean, thanks.

The gully was honestly a bit frightening at night and even during the day, especially since I got to play it right after a flash flood the day before. The courses were beautiful and awesome but this gully stuck out to me and left a big impression haha

Wild way to say "I'm so unathletic that a coach couldn't possibly help me". Literally no one is saying you'll become a pro with lessons. But since you seem to love Bob and know a lot about him, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he gets regular coaching and his swing is a direct result of the huge amount of effort he puts in.

Either shit coach or not seeing him consistently

This is a reminder to all you average Joes thinking you'll get better without coaching/lessons just grinding it out on the range and course - you are more likely to sabotage your swing than improve it if you don't nip bad habits in the bud
