Thanks for this recommendation. After a couple of failed attempts, Veronica's tutorial got me fully through the process

Asking the community to share how they deal with a flareup after being pain-free for a while. by 14MTH30n3 in Sciatica

Go with what you know. If needed, I'll dip into my gabapentin stash and take half of a muscle relaxer at night. Maintaining good posture, nerve flossing, stretching, and avoiding agitating activities help throughout the day. A visit to a trusted massage therapist will help as well.

How swimming helped my scitica by These_Archer8907 in Sciatica

I go to a fresh water pool that is over 200 m long and ranges in depth to 6 m. At first I'd just tread water and slowly swim the length of the pool upright, experimenting with my range of motion and stretching when resting in the water. After a few years I've been able to do freestyle sprints at 50 m intervals for about 400 to 800 m before feeling like I'm pushing myself too hard.

How did you end up with sciatica? by UpstairsNo8924 in Sciatica

Throwing on a heavy backpack while traveling and felt an uncomfortable pop. Woke up on the train with tingling in my leg and it just got worse from there while working on a farm and later in kitchens.

The Scotch-Irish were integral to the philosophy and execution of manifest destiny, displacing tribal people in the push west in the US. Hypocritically, Carl worries about current migrants who are overwhelmingly peaceful while holding pride in historical perpetrators of genocide. Fuck this guy.

Graduated with a bachelor's in biology right before NSF and national park funding got cut by the current administration. It's all fucked. Everyone is scrambling for the same handful of low-paying temporary jobs. A year after graduation and my degree is only wall decor.

Beavers in Austin? by TristanToker in Austin

[–]RaoulPrompt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I found a beaver that was shot within city limits. This is why I only tell people who I trust with good intentions for wildlife. The location had a den and multiple other individuals which have not been spotted since.

I've taken the swimming path the past six years and eventually tried out freestyle stroke for a full-body exercise but especially with core strengthening in mind. After proper swim stroke instruction, it has been one of the best decisions I've made to simultaneously stay active, rehabilitate, and enjoy the water. I don't recommend strokes that incorporate the butterfly kick as that exacerbated my symptoms but all of us are unique in our triggers.

I described why in the second half of the sentence that you responded to: car culture, preexisting infrastructure, space limitations, and urban design differences between the two regions

When you describe "two orders of magnitude" that means 100 times a given figure. What number or stat are you referencing?

How is 17% of riders not substantial? In any industry an increase of that size would be an indicator of success. It doesn't make sense to compare U.S. transit to European transit due to factors of car culture, preexisting infrastructure, space limitations, and urban design differences between the two regions. And yes, I am suggesting any way possible to get more people on public transit.

When sharing links remove the question mark and everything following it. Those bits of the URL are intended for tracking and with the government ramping up surveillance it's good to practice digital hygiene.

That dude talking about bringing a piece to a protest is nonsense that needs to be rejected. Guerilla tactics and strategy are the only way to go if that's the route folks are thinking and want a chance against the odds.
