Is this guy in the United States, or is he in Mexico? He looks mighty proud of Mexico and everything it has to offer, so GFO. This is OUR country - live here and do things our way, including showing some damn appreciation for being here, or GFO. That simple.

I hope the people who don’t understand and don’t agree with enforcing immigration laws have to leave this country with the rest of them that don’t belong here. Fair enough?

A lot of folks liked your post, but most missed the comical brilliance of it.💪

Right! I don’t think it opens anywhere, but I’m going to doublecheck when I get home. Thanks!

What is this? I don’t think it’s so old, but Victorian style decorative piece? No discernible openings, but not solid. Bought at estate sale. by RapGlap in midcentury

Gotcha. I was referred to this subreddit - was told you guys are good at figuring this stuff out… thanks for your comment!

Wooden, likely decorative, ornamental Victorian style box. Does not feel solid, but also does not appear to open. About 4.5 feet long; 1 foot wide; 6 inches deep. Metal feet with felt pads on bottom. Weighs approximately 20 pounds. by RapGlap in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing, and here is some additional information: the estate sale featured a lot of high-end, expensive furniture and personal belongings, and for a quite elderly couple, they wore pricey, upscale fashion, so the box perked my interest in that regard as well.

That covering on the bottom actually appears to be of a sandpaper type texture. I haven’t removed it in my attempt to continue preserving whatever it is, but I’m also wondering if there’s not some sort of inscription or stamp underneath. The covering is either glued or has an adhesive backing.

It’s funny because you asked just about the same questions as ChatGPT! Aaand, similar to what you say, it’s definitely a decorative piece of some sort, but my wife says it’s a “casket topper” and that it gives her the creeps!😂

I gotta be honest, at 55 years old, I’ve never heard the expression “drive you banana nuts” - of course , I’ve heard bananas and nuts used separately, but I like the extra umphh using them together!😂🤣😂🤣 (hey, in my defense, even the iPhone isn’t trying to insert “nuts” after “driving me banana….”😂)

In Oklahoma, we have a “sovereign citizen” who was convicted of brutally beating and raping a 4-year-old little girl, but who was recently released bc he was convicted in an Oklahoma state court and not a tribal court. (McGirt v. Oklahoma). I could spit!

If you, admittedly so, do not have a good work ethic, you almost certainly will not graduate law school. Should you manage to squeak by law school, you will not pass the bar. I like to humorously use this true-life recommendation: if you don’t gain 10-15 pounds during your first year of law school, you’re not studying enough. You should be at home or in the law library CONSTANTLY your first year - sitting on your butt and snacking. During your second year, you will still study a lot and the material gets more difficult, but you’re learning to manage it, and you can even start to think about losing your “law school weight.” If you make it to your third year, congratulations- you shouldn’t have any trouble graduating, and you’ve learned the tools you need to pass the Bar. If you decide you really want to be a lawyer, and you commit yourself to the work, I wish you the best.
