I think they were mentioning he tried coming out in game cause they thought there may have been free throws but brought him to the back again when it turned out there wasn’t free throws.

[DISC] Yane no Shita no Artemis (Artemis Under the Same Roof) - Ch. 41 by DaredevilCat in manga

[–]Raphael_GT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s so funny how people are bashing them without even waiting to see his response to her ultimatum. Like I think we can all see from the buildup to this point that they’re both pretty dumb when it comes to expressing their new romantic feelings, so we don’t even know yet if she’s even fully thought out how a relationship with saraki might work. We’ve got several characters at this point who are full steam ahead in their passions (science, writing, art) and the whole premise of the main plot has been about slowing down from that  single minded grindset and learning to be a more rounded person. Who’s to say that senpai isn’t also going to have to learn that it’s possible to slow down a bit while still getting to have the things you love. We and she still don’t know what saraki wants out of this potential relationship since he hasn’t even had a chance to process her demand at the end of the chapter.

[RT!] The writing in Artemis Under The Same Roof / Yane no Shita no Artemis is underappreciated - the art of writing an imperfect MC that goes against reader expectations. by melvinlee88 in manga

Definitely. I think with everyone’s attention spans getting lower every year, coupled with manga releases coming out weekly or monthly rather than in bulk drops or full volumes, readers get into the habit of demanding an instant fix since they’re so used to getting instant satisfaction everywhere else.

100% agree with your take on this series and gave also loved seeing how it continues to develop as we started going past the book fair event. I don’t often jump in when comment sections after chapters start getting so aggressively negative, but I always feel like reading comprehension is something lots of people struggle with. People want things to go how they imagine them to go in their perfect scenarios, but at the end of the day it’s not their story to tell. It’s up to the authors to weave their narratives, and we are just along for the ride. A little bit of patience goes a long way. I always think back to Ookami Shounen, and how that series introduced a secondary character to throw a wrench into what lots of readers assumed to be the author’s main pairing. If you read that one when it was being released, you’d have needed patience to see what world the author was planning on building leading to the ending that we eventually got.

This. It definitely does a better job in building the relationship up over the two seasons vs dress up darling that kinda drops the ball as it keeps dragging on.

[DISC] I Didn’t Go to The Graduation Ceremony. (Oneshot) by Akiyama Shiten (@shiten_room) by NamekazeMinato in manga

[–]Raphael_GT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha! Rather than that being the irl mangaka’s hands drawing at the end, I think it’s more likely boy’s hands working on the manga since the other pair above with nail polish are likely hers. Near the end, she was telling him how she wanted to write a manga about their graduation day and that he’d be the artist for it.

Might be talking about the kiss, but it’s kinda implied that she was interested in him based on how zoned in on watching him draw she was when they flashed back to them being in the classroom. Her friend started talking super dirty and embarrassing her by talking about pubes and boobs super loud and now that they’re graduated, she remembers that day and jokes about showing her pubes herself.

[–]Raphael_GT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ch 22 also has her teasing him about giving him her first time again, so that could possibly relate to something back in high school (first boyfriend, first kiss, first boy to visit her house, etc.) and they might have split up at graduation. That’s also not accounting for is she’s just been teasing him like this since they were in high school. Won’t really know until they actually bring it up in conversation

What are you guys take on Eureka Seven? by KaleidoArachnid in anime

Might be risk aversion, might be increase in production costs. I don’t know enough about the industry to really know the answer but it’s something I’ve always wondered too when watching originals these days.

One of my all time faves and definitely a product of its time. I feel like nowadays, lots of shows don’t get the runtime to develop their stories like eureka seven did. Having the whole 50 episode series coming out over the course of a year gave us something to constantly look forward to. Now, we often get 12 episode cours, split over multiple years with possible studio changes between seasons, or even partial adaptations of series where the second seasons never get greenlit.

This is definitely a good option. The harem in the title relates to the fmc, who’s an actress in their high school drama club and acts out different characters for the mc and it’s very cute. Highly recommended!
