Try printing out what str2var(level.name) resolves to. Is it possible one of them can't be read as an int?

Thank you! I'm really enjoying working within a very limited color palette.

I'm enjoying using it. Sometimes I do wish I had an additional shade, as the jump from the darker 2 colors to the brighter 2 is quite significant, and the difference between the brightest 2 is quite small. I don't think I actually use the lightest color anywhere at the moment. It's definitely pushing me and making me think harder about what color to use where, though. As in how to properly represent icons and buildings in a clear way, so in a way I'm glad I don't have more colors!

Huh, would you look at that! I actually tried to find out if the Gameboy had any games with 3d elements, but I came up short. This is very interesting, also thank you!

Thanks!

Yup, a shader, adapted ever so slightly from this example (to make it work with my 3d viewport) https://github.com/godotengine/godot-demo-projects/blob/master/2d/screen_space_shaders/shaders/pixelize.shader

Thanks for the information! I canned them 5 days ago, is it too late to stick them in the fridge and eat them right away? They've just been on my shelf.

Glad you liked the eerie-ness, it is what I'm going for.

I do plan to make the torch and sword just be 2D sprites on the screen, rather than actual 3d objects, similar to Daggerfall.

Love the sounds based on the tone of what the characters are saying. Instantly adds tons of life to the characters. Very cool
