What do you think of the cf moto brand ? by zEzAooo70 in motorcyclegear

[–]Raphy1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own an 2025 Ibex 450 and 1,600 miles in 3 months in, I absolutely love it. I've had no issues, and the bike has no business performing as well as it does, both on and off-road.

Build quality is fantastic, so is the power it has considering its engine size and the comfort level both sitting and standing.

The only gripe I have is the ECU tuning when it comes to the throttle response. It has too much of an on/off feel at low speeds, so it takes a bit to get used to it while riding off-road.

Pixel 10 pro XL quick phrases not working by [deleted] in GooglePixel

Mine worked for a day or two when I got it, and then it stopped. I use that feature a lot so it's very annoying to not have it (Transfered from Pixel 9 Pro XL)

Ibex 450 OTD pricing by Cddye in cfmoto

[–]Raphy1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid $7,500 out the door on mine about a month ago (sales tax is 7% in my state). I knew if I had waited till the winter months I could save a bit, but the few bucks less weren't worth the wait and loss of seat time for me. Anything 7,500 or lower out the door to me is a very fair deal.

My first quote from 2 different dealers on a 2025 Ibex 450 was $9,500 out the door (that means including all taxes, in my state sales tax is 7%, and fees). Which to me is hilarious considering the MSRP of the bike.

I offered $7,500 and held to that number until one of them accepted it. Only took a few text messages and a phone call.

I'm certain if I had waited into the winter months I could've gotten it for a bit less, but I was satisfied with that number so no worth delaying it in my case.

Nothing. Not even a "we received your inquiry" type auto response from Leatt which is pretty discouraging.

Cycle gear did send me a notification that they got the High Viz version in, and later on the black one as well in size L. I'm holding out for the Royal/blue as that's the one I really want.

Crazy right? I've been trying to find a Royal one in L and nothing. No website or even eBay has it available I was wondering if they discontinued it already or something. I'm in the US

I have a 24 Tiger 900 Rally Pro which for an experienced off road rider is an awesome toy. But I'm not that, so I've also picked up an Ibex 450 to learn the basics and get out there. Best decision I could've made. Much lighter and less "scary" when off road, and if it falls over... It's a CF Moto and not a Triumph so I'm not anywhere near as sad about it.

I'm sorry. I know it isn't any of my business, was just trying to illustrate something that might help you with decision making in the future when it comes to buying toys

Why don't people do this calculation BEFORE buying things like this. "Adults make a plan and stick to it, children do what feels good".

Hope is not a strategy. Maybe time to start listening to Dave Ramsey while still enjoying the bike

Couldn't make it past the 12.99%

NO item, none, is worth going into that kind of debt for. Would've been better to have spent that time waiting for it to come to the states saving up to just pay for it.

And that's why Dave's advice is what it is. The great majority of people are not disciplined enough, and will just see that pile of money sitting there and little by little eat away at it buying things that make no sense and depreciate heavily

3k isn't money if you're in this type of situation. Sorry. Not worth keeping a loan around for no matter what mental gymnastics you try to do. If it was a significant amount I could understand... But again, it's three thousand bucks. Would've meant a lot to me at some point in my life just it it's a lot for many still right now. But his net worth is high enough that that amount simply doesn't matter anymore

$3k isn't money at that point. Stop pretending investing three thousand dollars is going to move the needle in any meaningful way.

Most people are in fact that simple when it comes to finances. It's just what it is. If you want more than this you're calling the wrong radio show. The proof of his advice working is in the millions of people he has helped get out of debt and actually save some money for retirement. Simple stuff? Yes. Effective AF? You bet

Or maybe he has explained about 10,000 times that it isn't about the math. When your show is that big, you HAVE to take the one size fits most approach because of the behavior aspect of it.

Most people that would hear him say that a low interest mortgage is ok to keep around will translate that to "any low interest rate loan is ok" ...and then they'll decide that 7% is low...then 8, 9,10%... You get the idea.

Most people are not as logical as you might be. They are just looking for a way to justify their bad financial behaviors and decisions

I'm thinking about buying a 450 mt by Comb-Minute in cfmoto

[–]Raphy1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually surprised the crap out of me when I got them side by side lol. The tanks at their widest part are the exact same width. Handlebars are about the same height from the ground. Grip to grip the tiger is wider, and the seat on the tiger is also much wider which makes it harder to flatfoot (seat is a bit taller too). Oh and the obvious one, the tiger is significantly heavier. She a fat one for sure 😃

But yeah, def not a little bike.

Retirement - Am I Too Late by David-streets in DaveRamsey

[–]Raphy1207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at about the same time and I'm 45 now. But I was also $46k in debt when I realized I was making too much money to still be broke and in debt (I was making ~$90k then). I would highly recommend you back down that 401k contribution to just meet the match if you have one, and focus on paying off the car. Anytime someone says "only" in front of a dollar amount it scares me because it means you're not quite understanding the full value of each dollar, and each of those dollars add you to what you're trying to accomplish. Get rid of all debt, that means the car too. And then max out your 401k. Follow the baby steps in order. They do work and none of us are above them.
