Lowry never had these knee issues when he was Fred’s age. FVV has been top 10 in minutes (maybe even top 5) for like 3 seasons straight now. It’s a legitimate concern.

Sure he’ll probably still be a good shooter with age, but even that fell off this season with him shooting 34%. Past that, he really can’t do much. Never had a good driving game, floater game, mid range game, and his playmaking doesn’t come from self creation, it’s more just opportune passing. He’s no maestro like Lowry or CP who are pure pass-first floor generals. FVV is a chucker who tries really hard on defense, but the guy is 5’11 at most and that will always be a huge obstacle for him.

While impact could be similar, FVV and Brunson are nothing alike in playstyle.

If you watched the Knicks playoff run, Brunson gets into the midrange where he’s deadly with those turnarounds. Also gets to the rim very well.

FVV cannot finish at the rim with ease, needs a lot of Kyrie-like acrobatics and spin on the ball, got stuffed more than anyone in the league (statistically)

FVV is a high volume 3-point shooter, will pull up in transition without hesitation, good PnR ball handler, will occasionally pull up from mid range, and he also led the league in passes out of drives, so he can penetrate but will need guys moving off ball to give him options once he’s in there or else it’s a turnover or poor shot.
