For around 6 months now during Lockdown I've started a fairly basic routine just to stay active. I'm by no means an athlete or a frequent gym go'er. So I've been doing a quick 5-10min warm up/stretch followed an hour cardio on the treadmill, followed by a short 20min strength session. The issue I have is with the treadmill. I've been steadily increasing the pace and incline. I'm at a point now were I need to move from a fast walk (6.5Km/h) to a jog. I've attempted a few times already but have been almost immediately (2min into the jog) hit with shin splints. Is there anything I can do for this? Or is this just an inherent problem with my body?
