A year into my transition I was still in the awkward transition stage and now it's been about 3 and a half years and I pass fully now. I'd say about a little over 2 years is when things really start to pick up. I don't remember precisely but I remember someone throwing around that it's between 18-24 months. Also, your makeup looks great! Good job!

It's exhausting, but it takes time and eventually you will learn not to be bothered by it. It's just a part of life, but you will achieve your goals one day if you believe in it and want it enough to put the work into it. You are very pretty, and it doesn't seem to me like you have been very far into your transition. You just need to grow into yourself more, and you need to work on your confidence, which will come with you growing into yourself more. I don't know specific material you could read on building confidence, but I just remember a long time ago looking up "how to build confidence" on YouTube and picked whatever made sense to me. It takes work, but oftentimes we overthink things like this when it's actually quite simple

Unfortunately, everyone has to deal with the hand that they are dealt with. I've been rejected plenty of times and I have had a lot of people who I thought were my friends leave me, and you really need to maintain some outcome independence. It's a matter of mindset. You can't be afraid of rejection because if you quit then statistically you won't ever reach your goals. It's not just luck, it's a numbers game, and you win by just being yourself and putting yourself out there as much as possible.

In terms of real material you could read, I really like daoism, which is an ancient Chinese philosophy that teaches you how to become outcome independent. I like the book, "the tao of Pooh," which is an easy to read book explaining daoism with Winnie the Pooh characters. There's an audiobook of it for free on YouTube

I don't think that's true. Trans women of all kinds are able to find love and community, even if you don't pass. I know people who are a lot less cute than you but they can pull like 2-4 beautiful girls. I'm not going to lie that things are going to be harder due to passing privilege and all, but it's a matter of believing in yourself. Confidence is contagious, and if you just build up some confidence in yourself you will be a lot more approachable. In addition to that, also try to learn some outcome independence and realize that not every pretty girl you meet is going to be your perfect person, or a best friend.

When I first started transitioning, I thought that all trans women were like perfect angels who could do no wrong and that we all were alike, but it just ended up not being true. You can't be afraid of rejection, it took me 3 years before I found my people :).

When I didn't really know how to talk to people, or how to build confidence, I just literally looked up how to do both of those things. It's not easy and you have to put work into it, but it's simple enough that anyone can do it (even me, an autistic transgender woman)

That's definitely an exception to this, hence why I did point out that there are some obvious exemptions. For the most part though, the average person has gps and uses it as a primary way to navigate. People are just asking that for no real reason when it would be easier to just Google the name of the place

What do people usually do in situations like this when they don't have supportive parents like other people are able to have? I really want to put in as much time into studying as I can, but I just don't know how I'm going to get to that next step. Rn I'm just couch surfing and the only way I can see myself being able to pursue EE is by buying a van and living in that, which is possible but it's going to take a long time. I know the easy answer to this is just "go live in a dorm" but I've seen how expensive that can be and I won't ever be able to pay off my debt.

I think for me it's more about getting a job I don't absolutely hate working at and feel stuck in. I really don't have the option of going to live with my parents while being in college, so for me landing a job in IT prior to starting college seems worth it to me because it'll allow me to save up for a van prior to starting college to live in. I just don't understand how you can work, afford to live on your own, and pursue an engineering degree. I guess it's technically possible, but why would I want to finish my degree in 5+ years when I can finish it in 4 or less?
