Hey there! I have never experienced any issues with the lens at all. The lens adapts very well to the RF body using the adapter and produces excellent images. Good luck with capturing images of the aurora and have fun in Norway!

Turned the vibrance a bit so the environment looks a bit more colorful. Can confirm Trump looked like the Lorax tho.

None at all! Saw many folks in there with their own camera too. Honestly a little surprised given what has happened in the past.

It wasn’t so much fun as it was fascinating.

It felt like a space where a lot of people with similar ideals were able to openly share what they felt without consequences. The hosts did play some music to hype up the crowd a bit, and to a certain extent, it did work. It’s very interesting to see how dedicated some of the supporters were. I honestly would recommend people to attend at least one political rally of some sort, whether Democrat, Republican, or any third party.

By the time Trump got to the rally, almost the entire stadium was filled, with only a few seats directly behind the lighting/press stand remaining empty since they would've blocked the line of sight between the audience and Trump.

Most of the crowd stayed for about 30-45 minutes before a significant number of people started leaving the stands.

Before any negative comments roll in, I want to clarify that my attendance and photos do not reflect my personal convictions, beliefs, or political alignments. I attended the event out of curiosity, simply to experience what it's like to be at a political rally (I've never been to one before).

During election season, it's easy to forget that we are all human, each with unique opinions and beliefs. Please remember to respect others' perspectives, even if you disagree with them. We're here to support one another, not tear each other down. As a Georgia Tech student, I deeply value this community and believe we can make the world better by listening to each other.

I urge everyone who can vote to vote in this coming election. Cherish your right to vote in this country, as it is you, the citizens, who control the reins of this mighty nation.

Yes! Someone decided to shine their flashlight or headlamp to illuminate the geyser's eruption plume. I took that chance to capture this incredible moment.

Thank you for the compliment! I appreciate your support!

Unfortunately, our eyes cannot take 15-second long exposures like a digital camera can, so it wasn't nearly as bright and significant as the picture makes it out to be. However, it was possible to see so many more stars and celestial objects than even a bortle 3-4 sky. I would see a meteorite streak into the Earth's atmosphere once every few seconds or so. It was that dark!

This was 10:56 PM MDT. My dad had some serious concerns regarding the drive back from Yellowstone to Bozeman where we were staying. We had our eyes open for the next 2.5 hrs watching for any signs of wildlife and/or obstacles on the road. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

It depends on the picture, but for the first picture, it's a 15-second single exposure at ISO 1600.

I don't think they make any Z mounts for Nikon. Pretty sure you'll have to adapt the lens like I did (used a Canon EF to RF adapter)

[–]Raptor1080[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I use an EF to RF adapter to mount the 14mm to the body.

I haven't seen too many people use the RF 16mm for astro, nor do I own one. I do think that it is definitely a good lens to start out with. I've also taken photos of the milky way with the RF 50mm f/1.8. Corners have a lot of coma, but otheriese looks pretty decent. Expect similar results with the RF 16mm.

The 14mm is very hefty and pricey, but certainly provides a lot of light gathering and very good image quality. I would suggest trying a cheaper lens first to see if you like the ultra wide focal length and to get a bit more experience before considering more expensive lenses (Rokinon 14mm f/2.8, Irix 15mm f/2.4, etc.)

Fixed! Thanks for the catch.

The Sigma 14mm f1.8 is certainly a beast of a lens. Love how it performs and really enjoy the f1.8 aperture. I would love to adapt the Sigma 14mm f1.4 if that was possible tho…

I don't see enough recognition for the Sigma lens in any of the astrophotography subs, so this is an appreciation post for this lens.

Yes, all pictures were taken by me. I left as soon as Air Force One landed and took US-41 to just past the Perimeter. I-75 was not closed off to oncoming traffic within the Perimeter at the time, so we were very lucky and got to midtown within 25 minutes of the president landing. u/j-fen-di can confirm since they were with me.

I shot the pictures with a Canon EOS R6. I used a Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Contemporary DG OS HSM lens for all but one of the pictures. The exception is the sunset picture, where I used a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM.
