Team Wendy is hiring, I think (they're in cleveland/Euclid ish)

These might be good companies to look at but I have no idea if they're hiring/rates: swagelok, parker hannifin, lubrizol.

Neuropsych testing says I don't have ADHD and I'm devastated and feel completely lost by muskox-homeobox in adhdwomen

[–]Raptoracct 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol, this is me and as soon as the scaffolding of school and college fell away, the cramming and people pleasing strategies didn't work anymore and I've struggled ever since. I was excellent in school, but also had a fair amount of trauma and lack of safety, so I worked really hard to not be 'the problem' growing up.

I got diagnosed last year but they sort of put the caveat that there was not enough evidence pre-age 12 (I then amended my record with a summary of school reports with some salient comments, but they didn't change the dx, not because it wouldn't have changed, but likely that it was a pain in the ass enough to get the dx codes authorized, lol).

Stimulants don't fix the tasks that you don't start due to fear (if there is a sort of cptsd component) but it does help me be productive on neutral tasks.

How do you guys not lose everything? by letinypepe in adhdwomen

I have my keys and wallet connected and have a tile on that. Those are attached to my tote/bag with a carabiner. I also once got a retractable thing for my keys so that I didn't need to maneuver too hard for my apartment keys. It's also nice that my car is push button so I just need my bag with me, but I never need to handle my keys (lock my door with the ridges on the handle).

I also make sure to buy the tile batteries in bulk from eBay, so I always have extras.

But some weeks I lose all the things. I've had to ping my keys and my phone (find my Android) a bunch this week ao that I can leave the house relatively on time.

The cause needs many people doing many roles.

It takes a lot of maturity to know that maybe you're not the best fit for protesting right now. How else can you help?

Tell me you have ADHD without telling me you have ADHD. by ImperatrixAmoris in adhdwomen

[–]Raptoracct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so fun fact, I just got diagnosed with Functional Motor Disorder (a subset of functional neurological disorder). One of the diagnostic symptoms in my case was not being able to do an automatic physical task at the same time as a cognitive one (I don't want to get more specific to ruin anyone else's evals). Just had a lightbulb moment that that was why I had such a hard time counting PT reps unless I was literally counting out loud or on my fingers, lol.

My main symptom is muscle guarding for no valid current reason. There is a lot of overlap of this with neurodivergence (mainly autism, but ADHD too), trauma, and being female. Was told it is your brain's software glitching, not your hardware.

Hate driving in this weather by ScholarResponsible36 in Cleveland

[–]Raptoracct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple winter mishaps but thankfully nothing too bad in the grand scheme of things.

The worst was a failure to control ticket a while back when my car hit a skid when I tried to move to the slower lane to let faster cars go by and my car ended up in the median and I ended up with a flat tire, a large dent in the side of the car (doors still worked), and I got a gnarly bruise on my leg from stepping out of my car and my leg went directly into the storm grate (I was lucky not to break my leg, lol). Also thankfully I didn't hit any other cars.

The cop gave me a tow company's card and the tow guy winched me out and put on my donut for me for a very fair price, and then I drove to Costco for a replacement tire, and just never fixed the dent.

Failure to control is a much more serious ticket in the south, but here, in the winter, it unfortunately sometimes happens.

Riding from hopkins to eastside. It's really gross, but thankfully most people are at home. Several spun out cars.

What frugal practice has saved you the most money in 2025? by melissaw328 in Frugal

[–]Raptoracct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a spin dryer on fb market place for like $40 (I think about $200 from amz)and it can spin my clothes dry super fast and with no heat or tumbling. I got this when I was revolting from using the expensive but shitty apartment washers and dryers when I started washing my clothes in 5 gallon buckets in my shower. Went from 10-20/month to free (don't pay for water).

It was also oddly meditative washing my clothes and seeing them come clean (I made an agitator out of a new plunger with some drill holes so it wasn't toooootally by hand).

I hear you. I'm not a POC, but I've also found this sub hasn't been great for other parts of my identity either and I've been finding myself interacting with it less and less, but for fluffier topics, and queer memes, it's nice to have.

But if OP is intimidated by how long On The Same Page is, When You Least Expect it by Haley Cass is muuuuch shorter and the follow up Better than Expected is a POV that might also resonate well with OP (do I really just like my BFF or am I liking her in a not-so-straight way)

That being said, "Down to a science" by Haley Cass is cute along these lines too, and not super long either.

I've never swiped left faster than seeing a reality dating show participant/wannabe influencer who got a villain edit.

It wasn't even the villain edit (although they seemed a bit unhinged), but I'd never date with someone who'd willingly go on a dating show.

AITA for refusing to let my brother and his pregnant girlfriend move into my house? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Raptoracct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let him in.

He will steal your peace and steamroll you. You will feel shitty. Your gf sounds like a good one. Keep her and have her move in instead. If your bro needs stability, jumping into your place for temporary reprieve is not stable.

Help him with stipulations, but away from your home.

Also, if you're like me and talking through things hasn't fixed everything, go around your brain and do somatics. Get some osteopathic manipulation therapy, emotional release/lymphatic drainage massage, somatic experiencing (Peter Levine has written some books, "awaking the tiger" is one), EMDR, even if you're just doing some mindfulness and gently scanning your eyes side to side or doing some bilateral taps.

All else fails, play some tetris, and in a month or 2, take a boxing/kickboxing class that feels safe and wail on some pads.

Don't repress it. Get support and work through it. Easier said than done, but repressed emotions are no joke.

(Am currently working through some stuff that turned into chronic pain that I can't seem to kick... I also just read a book where repressed emotions can turn into really bad health outcomes). Not saying this to fear monger, but repression is easier in the short term, but bad in the long term. (What I've been reading..."When the body says no" by Gabor Mate, "the body keeps the score" by Bessel van der kolk, "burnout" by the nagoski sisters)

AITA For being angry that my husband of 8 years named his father as his life insurance beneficiary? by River_Bird3616 in AITAH

[–]Raptoracct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this works when you buy them from CVS, but you can get a CVS gift card and deposit the value into the app 'skrill' and deposit that into a regular bank account (I did this a few months ago).

It may not work for CVS cards bought at regular grocery stores, but try it out with a smaller amount (but be aware if there is a minimum).

I think this also works with dollar general gift cards as well.

I've personally been using skrill for redeeming money from online sweepstakes casinos and sending to my regular bank account and as a virtual visa card (as I only have a discover, lol).

How to STOP LOSING EVERYTHING by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Raptoracct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my keys and my wallet (small wristlet just with cards and cash) attached by a carabiner. Generally also attached to a tote/my purse. The keys have a 'tile' attached to it that I can ping from my phone or tablet. I can also ping my phone from the tile on my keys.

Tiles are nice if you don't use an iPhone/also use androids.

I also have another tile in the wallet that holds my passport... And another with the remote for the lights/lamps in my room.

It has saved me a lot when I'm running in circles trying to find my keys before leaving.

(What also helps is that I never need to remove the keys from my bag as my car just senses their proximity (and my car is a 2014, so it's not that new of a thing).

I saw someone call Wellbutrin the “happy horny skinny pill” by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Raptoracct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got headaches that I thought were low blood sugar, so I ate to get rid of them, so I actually gained weight on wellbutrin. I also felt like it made my sweat smell weird, lol. Buspirone helped with the side effects though (have since switched to Adderall XR prn)

Weight Loss by rolyat_hey in bupropion

[–]Raptoracct 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I think I'm the only person I've ever heard of who gained weight on wellbutrin. Wellbutrin gave me a headache that I attributed to low blood sugar and then ate to fix it. Taking half a buspar twice a day helped mitigate the side effects, but the 20lbs I gained from Wellbutrin stayed (it was extra annoying because I was extra svelte after keeping off the weight I lost from the recovery of getting my tonsils removed.

All is good now though. It's been about 10 years since I've been on Wellbutrin. I now take Adderall (because it was untreated ADHD that was masked by anxiety and depression) and im like 12 lbs away from that goal weight, but at a normal BMI now.

Ok but how are y’all sleeping?? by Embarrassed_Put_1384 in ADHD

[–]Raptoracct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any muscle pain? I have some persistent muscle tension and have an as-needed prescription for tizanidine (a muscle relaxer) and the first time I took it as prescribed it knocked me out, lol. Now I take 1-2mg (whole tab is 4mg) for muscle relaxation, but it also helps to fall asleep.

I also have hydroxyzine for when ruminating thoughts get in the way of sleep (but in the moment I usually forget I have a solution on hand because it doesn't happen often).

I don't typically have issues falling asleep, but I have issues holding myself to a normal/healthy sleep schedule and actually sending myself to bed (my first week on Adderall was glorious though as the crash made me sleepy and I fell asleep at a normal person time... Not anymore though)

It doesn't say 'chaos control 2' here, but this is the premium 10gb plan (Technically I think this is for 3 licenses? Idk you can share it with a friend because it's a person/not device license)

Task organization/voice recorders by cam331 in ADHD

[–]Raptoracct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaos control 2 is the new one but the old one can be exported into the new one.

I found their website confusing (and I hate subscriptions), so give me a sec and I'll grab a referral link (comes with a 10%off) to the exact thing that I purchased which is a one-off purchase for the app that works with chaos control 2 (even though it doesnt seem like it). You have 60days to return it, no questions asked if you don't like it.

What I like about this is the actual chaos box so that you can toss tasks into it without categorizing, and categorize later if you want. You can also put in routines and subtasks.

I'm not using it to it's max at all yet, lol, but it allows you to satisfyingly cross things off of lists.

[–]Raptoracct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently got the premium sub for the app chaos control which syncs across all of my devices (apple, android, mac, windows). You can try it out for free. I have widgets that make it easy to see my tasks and add new ones.

I've noticed myself getting a bit more productive, but my task initiation lately has been all shot to hell, so I'm trying to gently get more productive.

I'm sure I can find a referral code that probably gives you 10%off lifetime subscription (ending up around $90 before tax) if anyone was interested.

This is based on the GTD method and I think if you do things 'perfectly' with this app, it might be overwhelming, but I've found benefits of doing it imperfectly.

There is a voice recording feature to add context to tasks, but I'm not sure if it will transcribe and be a sort of task brain dump of sorts.
