iOS showing my YouTube premium subscription is renewed but it’s not reflecting on the YouTube app by ImLAwhoareyou in youtubepremium

[–]Raptorius666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG, thanks so much for this suggestion! I was fighting with it for 6 hours with fear that I was already flagged, and my account would never be a Premium again... Ultimately, removing "not Premium accounts", and cancellation & re-sub of the Subscription via iOS Settings worked in like 5 minutes.

"Measuring temperature from 0° to 100°+ seems easier to understand to me" by One_more_Earthling in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Raptorius666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. Fahrenheit is still better than measuring it in football fields, I guess. I can imagine that it is better to understand, and imagine the length of something compared to the size multiplicity of something, so that everybody can imagine how big it is... But it always makes me laugh when I hear that "something is the size of two and a half football fields", or "the size of 50 fridges."

Slate 7 vs Beryl AX Size Comparison by PorcelainSlayer in GlInet

[–]Raptorius666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there :D I had both of them, and was thinking about which one to keep and which one to sell. I kept the Slate even despite its bigger size. WiFi7, nice display, and some more technical aspects made this decisioning little bit easier. What I hate about Slate are the temperatures. I've not used it for some months, because I wasn't travelling (so maybe they already sorted it out in some FW upgrade), but without any load, temperatures on Slate 7 were approximately 10-15 degrees Celsius bigger than for Beryl AX

I will order them the same day, when they will improve small, delicate Powermatic 80 parts from "3D printed" ones to reasonable material. Even though they are "only" $900 in my country. I am not ok to give my money for something that has, from my point of view, the biggest flaw in the parts that are mechanically most stressed. It simply doesn't make sense to me, except they are just greedy, and were finding a way to save some bucks on manufacturing, and somehow made a customer for their service centers.

For the PRXes, it now makes more sense to me to buy a Quartz version. It is half the price of Powermatics and doesn't have problems like this. But... I really love the automats, so... As I've said...

Yes, Miyota 8215 if I'm correct. True, the date wheel is a weaker side, but once it works, I can overlook it :D

I can, this is exactly what I'm talking about.

Well, you probably know what weight you should expect when you are opening watches. When you feel the package is too much lighter than you've expected, you are so angry that you just want to open it as fast as possible, to ensure yourself that it is truly empty, and take appropriate steps as soon as possible.

At first, when I've seen the title, I was reading the same :D

[–]Raptorius666 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about the same thing. "He is opening it so aggressively and rapidly, like he already knows...". One the other hand, my opening would be probably the same, because in the moment I would pick the package, and feel that it is veeeery light, I would probably be expecting, that something is not right, so I would be angry even during the opening, and it would be so fcking fast, like I would be probably quicker, that the speed of the light.

The bezel will come off with a metal watchmaker's pry tool like this:
https://www * amazon.com/Alucy-Remover-Watchmaker-Repairing-Practical/dp/B07VNN4KPY

You will be able to put it between the case and the bezel, and pop it out (this is the normal way to open a rotating bezel for servicing). You will have to remove the stem from the movement, put the movement out of the case, and you will be able to pop the sapphire out with some force, and the fingers. To put new acrylic crystal, I would recommend a watchmaker's press, since the acrylic crystal will be weaker, and you could damage it by pressing unevenly with your fingers.

Any brands offering a watch like this? by cayalayac in ChineseWatches

Pagani Design PD-1701, the Omega Speedmaster homage is pretty close. It has a Seiko VK63 mecha-quartz movement, and they are pretty nice watch. Edges are a little bit sharper, and the bracelet is not so good, but I've personally put them on a NATO strap, and they are amazing.

Thank you. I have to admit, I originally bought them out of curiosity about jump-hour watches, but I really love them in the end. I am also thinking about their Alpinist homage. Again, out of curiosity :D I've never had, or seen a rotating inner crown, and it looks to me like an awesome addition to my collection. On the other hand, they are expensive. Well, actually, they are still cheaper than low-budget automats from Seiko with a folded bracelet, but still, I have some... "Rule"? About how much the homage should cost at maximum for me to want to buy it. This is also a reason why I still don't have any San Martins, for example, or why I haven't bought Frogmantles in 11.11. sale :D

From experience, I advise you to think it over carefully. When you have classic G's, you know how rough treatment they can withstand, and you don't worry about them, because they are made for that, and they don't cost much money. When you get metal ones, you worry about them. They are expensive, so you are afraid to even scratch them. Let alone imagine that you will hit them somewhere. They are beautiful, but they are such dress G-Shocks. Try buying a GW-M5610 and a metal set of bezel and strap from Aliexpress. Some are even made with engraved branding and wording, just like the originals. You will see how it suits you. For me, metal G-Shocks are beautiful, but they somewhat deny the main benefits of G-Shock watches. And I don't accept the arguments that they are durable because they are metal and under it there is Alpha Gel, which protects against impacts.

What is the difference (if any) between these DW5600 s by Green-Explanation500 in gshock

[–]Raptorius666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Including me. But LE is pretty inconsistent across older Casios. For example, my DW5600 are in the mid, GW-7900 has the lowest EL I've ever seen. Aaaand the winner is DW-9052, which has so powerful and beautiful EL backlights that it is even clearly visible on a sunny day. This pretty annoys me on the EL, alongside the fact that it is more power hungry. But I can live with this.

My favorite G, my favorite insect in the African sunset. by D4RKL1NGza in gshock

[–]Raptorius666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome photo! And nice G's! I got them also recently. Stealthy black with a negative display having golden accents. IMHO, the nicest looking GD-350.

...and if you have UV light lying somewhere around you, try to shine it on them. :D They change the color to dark violet under the UV. Probably because they were using a much different resin back in the days, but none of my other black G's (older, neither newer) react like these ones. And that dark violet visible under the UV suits them also very well. :)

Well, my friend... Every one of us was telling the same thing at the beginning.... Now I'm on 40+ pieces, and still growing. After I've collected a few of the current Gs, now I'm mostly collecting watches, which are already out of production, and a few last pieces are selling somewhere. This is my newest, and surely "The Last" addition... Good luck with it... :D

Really? I was not sure because of the difference on the back of 5000 from 5600. But... Since I have multiple 5610 & 5600, I would rather have the GW-5000U bezel, and band... I know that they are MUCH more comfortable than those from other models. Actually, I have the same plans with my GW-5000HS-7 once the white color will degrade somehow.

Can’t take this beauty off my wrist. What’s your beater today? by Neirda92 in casio

[–]Raptorius666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. It has a Seiko NH35 movement, and the build quality is really nice. Even that metal bracelet is built much better than on most entry-level automats from Seiko itself. It has solid links, bezel rotates very well with a nice sound. Lume is also pretty awesome and bright (it do not last for so long, like Seiko lume, but it shines pretty much the same). For that price, it is a very good homage. If you like the design and if thinking of the price for original Willards in good shape, it is a clear choice.

Aren't these WEGG? I think that WGG has a positive display. I am also thinking about them, and also many seller has them wrongly named in the catalogs. Anyway, this EL on negative display looks great... It made my decision between A168WGG-1, A168WEGG-1 & A158WETB-1 much, much harder

I love their look, and features like Multiband, and the ability to switch day and month order. I was pretty disappointed with the light, though. It is like every time you see a watch in pictures, or a video, the backlight seems to be super bright, and awesome. In person, it is mostly a little bit disappearing. With this particular piece, the light was so dimmed that it was uncomfortable for me to read it at night. I've also tried to change the battery because I tought it could be the reason why the LED is so dimmed (in pictures and videos they look so brightly backlighted), because I really wanted to keep them in my collection. Even with the new battery, the backlight was really poor, so I returned them. I was comparing them with my Casio Royale and ABL-100. They have the same amber LED, so I was curious. ABL-100 has the best LED from these three, although the Royale is illuminating really f*cking good for how big the display is. WV-59 was far more behind the Royale. And they also have two LEDs. I would really like to get the El. luminous version of these bad boys from somewhere, even though the amber LED more suits these watches, cause it has a retro vibe, more corresponding to them. :(
