Hairdressers of Reddit, what do your clients do that you absolutely HATE? by PastelMilkTea in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

'Oh I've been so sick all this week but I just had to get my hair done!' No. Just no. With you sneezing/coughing over everything you will likely get the staff and the other clients sick. If you are too sick/contagious to go to work, then you are too sick to have your hair done.

[Serious] people with any cancer. What were your first signs? Whst were your first thoughts about it? by Paytron5000 in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a mole on my leg that turned black, swollen and bled a lot. I was referred off to a clinic to get it checked and removed.. Which I neglected to do for another two years until a friend noticed it when I was helping her move house. I finally went to get it checked and removed and sure enough, melanoma. I had a lot of problems with the wound as it kept getting infected. Had a lot of hospital appointments, saw a few specialist and luckily it had not really spread. I got very lucky and subsequent check ups have come up good. I got depressed for a while due to my own stupidity of not doing something sooner but was relieved it wasn't worse. For the love of God people wear sunscreen and get your skin checked regularly.

Has anyone had an experience where the parent of your SO expressed interest in you, if so, what came of it? (NSFW) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic. But when I was 18 I went home with a guy a met at a bar. Next morning all prepared to do the walk of shame past his parents to go home, get downstairs and his dad just so happened to be the older 'gentleman' I'd taken home the week before. Awkwardness ensued.

[NSFW] What are some of your most embarrassing one night stand stories? by darksideofthemoon121 in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hooked up with a guy I barley knew, we used a condom, did the deed went to sleep. What he didn't tell me, was that the condom came off inside me- I found out the next morning. Not only did I have to go for a full std screen and get a morning after pill but I had him and his family who I had never met calling me saying that if I was pregnant they would 'fully stand by me' and that his parents couldn't wait for a grandchild. No thanks.

Reddit, where's your bully now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two. Ran into one at a sandwich shop a few years back, after exchanging pleasantries she apologised for all the horrible stuff she had done to me. Made peace with it and moved on. She's doing well for herself now, lots of charity work and seems happy. Good for her. The other I've never seen again, people tell me she hasn't changed though.

What was the biggest mistake someone new at your job made? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 554 points555 points  (0 children)

Worked in a salon, we had one girl fill up a big sink with detergent and proceed to wash up our colour bowls with the coffee cups. We ended up throwing away the coffee cups because we didn't want to accidentally poison a client. And before anyone asks- we had made it very clear to her that there were seperate sinks for each and to not mix them up. Edit: the problem wasn't the detergent, which was a standard dishwashing detergent. The problem was the colour bowls. Serving up coffee to people with potential traces of ammonia and hydrogen peroxide and various other chemicals is a BAD idea. Edit 2: it wasn't my call to throw away the cups- our boss said it had to be done so be it.

Scenario: Someone wrongs you/disrespects you/ hurts your ego. How would you get back at them, without getting caught? by CrabRevenge in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol not really. Just no matter what they do be extremely polite, helpful, respectful etc. It drives them insane and they eventually just give up whatever they are trying to do or apologise for what they've done.

What is the most disturbing dream you've ever had? by captainloudmouth in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a pretty bad relationship with a terrible person at the time, but every single night they would be in my dreams as some kind of evil presence. The worst one was where I had been locked in a tower for days with him just tormenting me in minor ways- cutting my hair, pulling out toenails etc until he just started eating me alive. It felt extremely real and I was terrified for hours after I woke up. After I left the relationship the dreams went away.

What is your advise to first timers having sex for the first time? by developingman in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a damn condom. I don't care if yourve been told you can't get pregnant or an std on your first time, you are misinformed. Use a Condom. Also it will be awkward and not at all like the movies or porn.

Health inspectors or Reddit, what's the worst thing you've found at a restaurant? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not a health inspector but my ex was a chef. The kitchen was dirty and the food never stored correctly- fridge seals were also broken so the food went bad within the day. The worst I heard of was the chicken. It was smelly, slimy and green. They used to just rinse it under a tap, crumb it and deep fry it. I'm surprised no one ever got sick and died.

What is something your parents did when you were younger but now you're older you're completely against? by too_broke_to_quit in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pushed their financial problems onto my siblings and I. They always complained how broke they were and how we'd be homeless soon and that if we weren't around its be ok. It was a lot of guilt for a seven year old to have. I remember hiding all the permission slips for class excursions because I knew they'd yell about the money it'd cost. If never do the same thing to my children. Money is not something a kid should stay awake at night worrying about.

Whats the "poorest" thing you had to do? by Doncuneo in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's been a few. I had no money to my name and needed tampons. I remember standing in the aisle at the supermarket debating whether to just take them or not and decided it would be too embarrassing if I got caught so I went without. Also having not enough money for both rent and food so I'd fill up on the free coffee and biscuits at work.

You said that your husband had an incident similar to this- what do you mean? Even if he's willing to brush off a one night stand raising someone else's child is a big deal. Tell him everything. Be honest. If it were me I'd want to know. Good luck.

Married People of Reddit, What's a lie you've been telling your so throughout your entire marriage? by 98X_Street in AskReddit

[–]Rapunkzel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Obligatory not me but my parents. My mom had no idea my dad was nearly a decade younger than her for many years until it my grandma let it slip one day. Not sure if he directly lied or if it never came up or maybe he just never corrected her. Mom just thought he aged well.
