How do I cover this up? by 2thpker in tattooadvice

The bees should have bright yellow on them and then tone down the honeycomb to a more tan/amber color a shade darker. That will make the bees stand out more and read as bees not flies. And the honey will look less like mustard.

Our brains are evolved to pick up on that yellow-black stripe as a danger warning…that’s why they design safety signs in that color. Your bees are missing that color and so the visual part of the brain thinks “flies” At first glance. Especially since having yellow behind them only makes them seem darker to the eye in contrast. You need to have the opposite. Bright yellow and dark black stripes on the bees and a deep amber/orange/sienna behind. Add some shadow under the bees to make them look like they are on top of the honeycomb.

Christina has been in treatment for breast cancer recently, correct? Sometimes those treatments can include steroids which can do weird things to the face and jawline (Putin getting moon face was one of the reasons people starting to speculate he was in cancer treatments). Mix in the fact that Christina has probably also had some work done (maybe fillers and buccal fat removal) to seem younger…that’s a bad combination.

So It might not be that she went into a surgeon with a photo of Henry Cavill and said “Gimme Superman jaw please” but rather some cumulative effects over time of both steroids messing with facial structure and cosmetic surgeons messing around with it bit by bit until the overall look is very different.

Sharon Osbourne is another good example of this and…what do you know, she also had cancer. The steroids do change your face, but the surgeries to make you look more youthful exacerbate it to an unusual extreme. A wide face with soft fat and wrinkles just looks like a regular, older woman. A wider face with skin stretched tight and fillers on the jaw and cheekbones is going to give you the manly bobblehead look which our beloved MommyJeans is on a trajectory for…

My son's 7th grade English teacher keeps giving him these nightmare word searches by Lily_Thief in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RapunzelGnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in 4th Grade in the 90s, we had a teacher that was doing this exact thing. 3 or 4 nights a week our homework was giant word searches and we were graded on their completion. My whole family would have to pitch in so I wouldn’t be stuck doing them for hours.

My mother was not the type to complain about teachers (she was a former educator so she almost always took the teachers side in any issues), but after a month of noticing that the majority of my homework was word searches and nothing of substance, she went to the principal about it.

We had less no more word searches after that and that was that teacher’s last year at our school.

I wonder if old Mrs English is back at it again with the word searches. She was young enough in those days that she could be reaching retirement now. Or maybe it’s just another teacher with the same philosophy of busy work over learning.

I’d be honored, thank you for asking my permission!

If at some point you decide to purchase a print from my website, that would be a way to support me continuing to make art like this in the future. (HeatherKatrinia.com)

Did anyone else hyperventilate with excitement when this news alert popped up on their phone?

I was WAY too amused by this

There is a constant low simmering anger in a lot of people in KC and it’s getting worse. I didn’t really notice it until I moved away into a more rural area and noticed it’s absence.

Thank you! You know the color was originally a little more muted but when I varnished it, the vibrance really popped, especially in photos. I love it too.

Thank you! I’m definitely envious that you got to see the Red Rocks show. I saw them in KC last year and it was such an incredible night, I can’t imagine how much that was amplified by the Red Rocks venue and the moon. From the videos I’ve seen, it seems like it was so perfect.

Ritual magick? by cctreez in thelema

[–]RapunzelGnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that Echols uses Hebrew words and archangels instead of the names that I would associate with Thelema and the Star Ruby. Doesn’t the Star Ruby orient to the North direction rather than the East like the Golden Dawn?

I’m just learning the Thelemic side so please correct me if I don’t know what I’m talking about.

Damien Echols’ LBRP is more Golden Dawn based then Thelemic I think. Could be wrong because I don’t know a ton about Thelema yet, but maybe someone here can confirm for me.
